RUFAI TELLS SENATOR NATASHA TO PRESENT HER EVIDENCE; ALSO CLARIFIES THE SENATE PRESIDENT’S NAME ON DR DURU’S PHONE, NOT THE SENATE PRESIDENT BUT A CONTACT USING HIS NAME

Opinion: Let me begin by thanking Ojy Okpe for bringing this matter to the Arise Morning Show. It appears, it was Ojy who personally fought to bring this news out. Arise TV strangely blacked out Sandra Duru’s podcast. It appears the management of the TV station was upset with Sandra Duru because of some accusation levelled against Arise regarding their awards. She went on to accuse Mr Rufai Oseni and Dr Ruben Abati. But it takes a woman of courage, with a sense of justice and a passion for fairness to bring this story to the fore. Ojy is a good woman - she must have told the management we cannot stay silent on this story.

Notice Sandra Duru had her podcast on Thursday where she gave her lengthy revelatory podcast on the female Senator. But surprisingly on Friday, the Arise morning Show did not feature what was at the time the most trending story in Nigeria. And many people took note of that.

Let me thank Rufai and the Arise morning team for calling out Senator Natasha this morning, even though initially it appeared they were tilting more to Natasha’s end of the story, when this news first broke sometime in February. But they must have realised over the past weeks and even months something strange -Natasha’s team had refused to justify the Sexual Harrasment claim through evidence. Prompting many to wonder if this was all false.

This is what made Dr Sandra Duru’s podcast compelling because she revealed that the female senator told her there was no evidence to back up her sexual harassment claim. One would’ve thought that after such a direct statement from Dr Duru, the female senator’s team would release some information debunking Duru’s story but nothing has been forthcoming, in fact the response has been surprisingly subdued.

Today Rufai told Senator Natasha to release her evidence. He also told the Senate President’s team to release its own evidence. Let it go on record that the Senate President’s legal team led by Olisa Agbakogba SAN released evidence and photographic exhibits at a press conference.

(1) That Senator Natasha Akpoti Udughan visited the Senate President‘s house on the 8th of December 2023 with her husband, in the company of other Senators.

(2) That on the 9th the very next day, she went on tweeter eulogising the very same person she alleged sexually harassed her. The legal team pointed out the contradiction and inconsistency in her story.

(3) Senator Akpabio’s legal team at the same press conference released several photographs of Senator Natasha and the Senate President engaged in legislative functions together nationally and internationally in 2024.

Arise TV also clarified, it was a contact with the name of the Senate President that appeared on Dr Sandra Duru’s call log during the podcast.

I hope the female Senator at the centre of this saga responds to Arise Morning Show and presents her evidence to the Olisa Agbakoba team justifying her Sexual Harrasment claim.

She already narrated incidents with descriptions and timeliness yet to be disputed.

Suspended sen. Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has failed to file any independent exhibits to back up her claims of sexual harasment, a copy of her court fillings only showed a sworn affidavit by her in her own words, however there was no independent exhibit filed by her to back up her claims. In the affidavit, the suspended senator quoted Akpabio to have said, "Natasha, I am the Chief Presiding Officer of the Senate and you can enjoy a whole lot from me if you take care of me and make me happy."

it is worrisome because the timelapse of two weeks to file all evidences has lapsed as the case is due for hearing. one wonders if senator Natasha who claim to have evidence is only relying on her sworn affidavit which is the only weak evidence before the court without an independent exhibits like audio or video even chats shat should have been filed and labeled as exhibit A,B or C. etc....
As it stands now the court wont accept new evidence that is not filed within the timeline and senator Natasha knows that

Anyone who supports Natasha at this point is a staunch hater of Akpabio and Tinubu by extension. It's getting clearer everyday that she was just making things up. Hate blinds objectivity

Providing evidence in this case would be very hard for Natasha. Both akpabio and Natasha are playing some high level mind games. Nobody should take anybody's side right now. It's their supporters I pity most. This is chess. The most brutal chess player wins it all. Let's just fold our arms and watch the drama play out.

It is even possible that Natasha and Akpabio don nack well well . And na just a bitter ex issue ! Or Natasha has mental problem maybe from past trauma so she goes around accusing men of sexual assault .

In fairness to Rufai, he had asked Natasha if she had evidence the very first day she made the allegations on their station.

Natasha raised her voice as though she didn't want scrutiny.

When other journalists in BBC, Sky and DQ News mentioned that she was suspended for shouting like a market woman, she attempted to undermine that point.

It is wrong to weaponize allegations of sexual harassment. It is wrong to have kept quiet for too long and only talking when the chips were down, i.e., when she apparently lost favours from Akpabio.

Natasha, you have lied twice against Reno and Mgbeke. Give us reasons to believe you this time, or you lied again.

If a crime is committed and a Suspect denied it. The onus is for the complainant to prove beyond reasonable doubt by presenting convincing evidence that the suspect actually committed the crime. If society goes by what you said that means one day someone will start to accuse everyone especially their enemies
