The English failed to build Nigeria like the way the Dutch built south Africa. See how the country look like Germany
We thought we could run the country after independence but we were not capable. Our leaders who got the independence overrated our people. Our leaders were too self centered, greedy and there is a high level of illiteracy. People who got certificates but not learned. Mentality of building their houses and family but not the country.

When did you join Bwala's APC huh

dre11:
Joining APC Makes the Brain Stop Working’ and 4 More Daniel Bwala Anti-Tinubu Remarks

There are three things in the world that deserve no mercy: hypocrisy, fraud, and tyranny. – Frederick William Robertson

Daniel Bwala, a staunch critic of President Tinubu, his administration and the All Progressives Congress (APC), has been seen frolicking with the President in recent days, which has infuriated the public.

For his past statements against the APC, Bwala, who was a spokesperson for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential campaign council during the 2023 elections, has now drawn backlash.

He was an APC member until he defected to the PDP in 2022. He would later cite the ruling party’s Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket as the reason for his exit.

While announcing his decision on X on July 10, 2022, Bwala wrote: “Tonight I officially resigned my membership of @OfficialAPCNg on principles and conviction that I hold so dear. At this time of our national existence, our efforts and energy should gravitate towards uniting our people.”

There are now speculations that he may return to the APC. He held a meeting with President Tinubu on Wednesday “to show appreciation and support for the bold decisions he is taking to deal with the crisis confronting [the] country”, and he revealed that he would support Tinubu without apologies, even if it meant going back to the APC.

Amid ongoing controversies surrounding Bwala’s recent interactions with the President, FIJ revisits five times in the past when he criticised the APC-led administration.

‘JOINING APC MAKES THE HUMAN BRAIN STOP WORKING’

Bwala made a post on X in November 2022: “The human brain is unique and miraculous. It works and functions optically 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, until you join APC, then it stops working.”

Since his post resurfaced on Thursday amid his unabashed declaration of support for the APC, Bwala’s cognitive abilities have been questioned by Nigerians.

An X user with the handle @chymaker wrote, “His brain stopped working.”

Another X user @Morris_Monye, wrote, “There’s something wrong with this man’s brain.”

“Your brain didn’t take that long to stop working. Either you forgot to go for an annual checkup or your network is not as strong as you think. Whatever the case is, learn to clean your mouth,” wrote @Gary_Mazi

It's impossible to do that because 99% of toyota cars in nigeria na second hand. It's very difficult to see a 2024 toyota car in nigeria. Same with all other car brands.

The colonial paths of both countries were entirely different. The main difference that has led to a more 'European look' to parts (not all) of SA obviously at the expense of nationhood is that South Africa was essentially fought over by two distinct colonial powers, the Dutch and the British.

When conflict like this happens it leads to a different outcome from when one colonial power establishes sole rule.

For one, the powers invest more to 'settle down and defend' from the other because they essentially had to live off the land to sustain any conflict.

So there is a difference between a colonial master that just wants to 'take and go away' and one that stays to build things for himself out of planning for the long run, for ever.

The good things seen in SA have come at a heavy price of prolonged colonial rule and the sufferings of apartheid that has scarred that country for generations.

Be careful what you wish for.... in retrospect.

PS. If the British had adopted Nigeria (the Niger area) as their own in deed and stayed as long as the 90's, integrating and grafting into the root canal of the country, many parts (the parts they conclaved) will have looked like these be it Lagos, Calabar or Jos....where vestages of the British remain today.

Once again the economic chicken and egg scenario.

If you want investment you must do the work of economic recovery and revitalisation as basic foundation.

No one will build a factory to produce stuff you cannot afford. No one will build power plants where you cannot pay bills. This is the basic reason why investment is rather flowing out of Nigeria than in. The investor is coming to exploit a gap not to enrich you or draw you out of poverty for that matter.

This small detail is often lost on the ruling class with all their endless waste of resources junketing round the world instead of doing the ground work, the hard work of economic reforms.

BMW has an office there because there is what to officiate over, the growing wealth of the average southern African.

They don't understand this.
Everyday the country is bleeding the middle class. Doctors, accountants, engineers, businessmen are closing shop, divesting and leaving.

So who will be buying the cars.... the rich who already have cars or the poor who just need food not toys.

Adesina was saying this just yesterday or so and it is at his desk a lot of foreigners will sit to inquire about countries like Nigeria and her outlook.

When they see your minimum wage of 40 dollars and the 50 years it will take you to buy a standard model they will rather offer the toy models or the catalogue instead..... grin

German automaker BMW’s circular office in Midrand, Johannesburg, won a 5-star rating for its environmentally friendly features.

BMW, which also owns Mini and Rolls-Royce, moved into its South African headquarters in Midrand in 2015.

The iconic building is located next to Pretoria Main Road and off the N1 Highway. It is close to Grand Central Airport and the Midrand stop on the Gautrain.

About 600 associates work in the building, with diverse fields including marketing, human resources, business strategy, and example sales for the BMW brand, Mini and BMW Motorcycle.

The main building in Midrand is part of an “open campus,” which also includes the offices of the Financial Services section and the on-site training centre.

The group’s website states, “Our uniquely designed atrium garden invites you to take a moment of relaxation and reload your energy. “

The Green Building Council of South Africa awarded the building a 5-star rating in 2015 for its environmentally friendly features.

The rating made BMW South Africa the first automotive company in South Africa to receive the rating.

The rating considered the indoor environment quality, energy, transport, water, materials, land use, ecology, emissions, and innovations.

Variables that added to Midrand HQ’s GBCSA 5-star rating included:

Glass and solar-controlled louvres installed within the internal façade of the building, enabling enhanced daylight and thermal comfort.

90% of the office’s usable area now has an external view, providing good levels of daylight for occupants.

The peak electrical demand on the building was reduced by 30%, which included an extensive use of LED lighting throughout the building.

5% of the parking bays are now dedicated to alternative fuel and hybrid vehicles, while 5% are reserved for motorbikes, mopeds and scooters.

Water-efficient sanitary fittings were installed throughout the building.

Water meters were installed for all major water uses and connected to a Building Management System to support proper facility management of water consumption.

A dedicated storage area was provided for waste recycling,

All topsoil impacted by the construction was separated and protected from degradation, erosion, or mixing with fill or waste, and it still remains onsite.

In addition to its Midrand headquarters, BMW has a manufacturing plant in Rosslyn, Pretoria, and an IT hub in Menlyn, Pretoria.

Since you started hearing Nigeria is giant of Africa, have you asked yourself where is the giant in Nigeria?

A country that lacks infrastructural development, human capacity development, lack of basic amenities and utilities and have been overtaken by a country that came and bought oil palm seedlings years ago from us.....

What are we giant for ?

Such a shame. A South African posted something good about his country and Nigerians are busy fighting below his post over how bad their country is.

I have never seen other Africans insult, or talk bad about their country at every giving opportunity like Nigerians.
Not even Somalia that is in war for over a decade

Never..

the Bri:tish would have never ever built Nigeria the way the d:utch did for S.A.

its black South Africans that built the S.A you see today not the D:utch

There is no difference between E:ngland and F:rance towards black countries.

before the br:itish left Nigeria, the Br:itish from 1820 - 1960 did not build one university, our number of primary and secondary schools were very low, br:itish did not build smooth roads all over Nigeria , no housing estates, no plans for clean water for communities, no hospitals, no universities, no teaching hospitals, no vocational centers, no power plants, majority of the private companies where owned by the br:itish and they only gave Nigerians clerical work which is what the education system they gave us is meant to produce office assistants.

All the developments you see in Nigeria today from Abuja to lagos to calabar to Akwa-ibom to oyo to Enugu e.t.c are all built by Nigerians, our parents, our grand parents e.t.c the br:itish left Nigeria to rot. Everything you had and have the privilege of enjoying in Nigeria was and is through the hardwork of parents, grand parents, and other Nigerians.

the bri:tish leave the people more devastated than they earlier met them. If not for the hardwork and peaceful nature of our ancestors in southern Nigeria, southern Nigerians will be in poverty because the bri:tish created Nigeria in a way where Northern and Southern Nigeria will engage in endless wars...

after over 140 years in Nigeria.. the british did nothing for Nigeria and Nigerians..
