there is nothing like old money in Nigeria

If the wealth was not transferred to the next generation, they are not old money

Majority of the people on that list, their wealth was not transferred to the next generation

They are just one hit wonder
All these 'real old money' talks are usually spun by never do wells who failed woefully at building a life for themselves, coming up with bs like this to discredit their sets who took life seriously from the get go and did so well while they chased meaningless things and ended up in horrible places.
There are young men and women doing so well in their respective paths and are still coming strong, they should deal with it and let the jealousy choke them while at it and should always remember their wrong choices made them end up this hopeless.
Clowns.

"Buje budanu" (wasteful spender) afuni mawobe" philanthropist etc... it either you're not sincere with yourself or you are on a mission here... We know your type...

Those guys also cut curners

many of them were lucky because they had relationship with the colonial masters

some were government employees, when the colonial masters left, they took the over some of the assets because majority of Nigerians during that time were not exposed.
Do u have evidence sir or u are just accusing to score a point?

Stop quoting me, abeg. You're irritating me with the way you reply. You accused me of being on a mission when I wasn't. How could an elderly person who claims to be mature and not on same level with me be that judgemental?

Da Rocha (Darosa) has become a slang till date especially in Lagos here.

It connotes a spendthrift or free giver ...
True.

Son: Mum,please give me 1k to buy airtime,

Mum: I'm not darosa, go and meet your dad. I still gave you 1k yesterday grin.

He was a philanthropist par excellence. To rise in life, you need someone. We should always pray to God to send us our destiny's helpers and timely. Pa Odutola made Awolowo's rise to stardom possible by lending him momey without collateral, to go to school in England and the rest was history.

The other rich people in that era too were helped by someone
