The Abure-faction of the Labour Party-Nigeria, yesterday suspended six senior members: Governor Alex Otti of Abia State, Reps caucus leader, Victor Afam Ogene, Darlington Nwokocha, Seyi Sowumi, Senator Ireti Kingibe and Hon Godwin Ogah

Alleged Suspension of Governor Alex Otti: Abure Is a Clown In Desperate Search Of a Crown —Abia Government

The attention of His Excellency the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, has been drawn to the news of his purported suspension alongside other eminent leaders of the Labour Party from the Party by the former National Chairman of the Party, Julius Abure.

The statement by Abure and his gang of commedians is not only a joke taken too far, but an affront on democracy by a group of inconsequential irritants who are desperate to use Governor Otti's name to advance their self serving economic agenda.

For the records, the highest court in the land, the Supreme Court of Nigeria has rightly and unambiguously stated that Julius Abure is no longer the National Chairman of Labour Party. The judgement which is in agreement with the Constitution of Labour Party, and formed the basis for the setting up of the Senator Nenadi Usman-led National Caretaker Committee stripped Abure of every authority to parade himself as the National Chairman of the Labour Party.

Just few hours after being summoned by a Committee Set up by the Senator Nenadi Usman-led National Caretaker Committee to come and respond to allegations of gross misconduct bordering on financial misappropriation, impersonation and anti Party activities levelled against him, Abure decided to be smart by half by rushing to the press to announce the purported suspension of Governor Otti and other eminent members of the party.

We enjoin Nigerians to disregard Abure's laughable statement and continue to see him and his co-conspirators as a group of clowns in desperate search of a crown they do not deserve.

Finally, we call on the Inspector General of Police to quickly arrest Mr. Abure for impersonation, while INEC should ensure full implementation of the Supreme Court judgement as a way of preserving the integrity of the Supreme Court and protecting our democracy.

Federal lawmaker representing Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency, Hon. Amobi Ogah, has broken his silence following his purported suspension from the Labour Party, describing the action as meaningless and politically inconsequential.

Reacting to the announcement made on Tuesday, Hon. Ogah said the suspension was orchestrated by those unsettled by the wave of positive change currently sweeping across Abia State under the leadership of Governor Alex Otti.

“The so-called suspension means absolutely nothing to me,” Ogah said in a statement. “I remain a servant of the people who elected me. My loyalty to Governor Alex Otti and his transformational agenda in Abia is total and unshakable.”

Hon. Ogah, who was among six senior members suspended for alleged anti-party activities, dismissed the disciplinary process as a smokescreen by a faction within the party trying to distract the public from pressing internal issues.

“This is clearly the handiwork of people threatened by Governor Otti’s success. But let me assure them—no amount of intimidation or political drama can derail the new Abia we are building,” he said.

The lawmaker hailed Governor Otti’s leadership as exemplary, describing him as the best thing to have happened to Abia in decades. “I am with him full time. The people are with us, and our mission to deliver good governance remains on course,” Ogah declared.

Observers believe the suspension saga has deepened the existing factional cracks within the Labour Party, especially in Abia State where Governor Otti and Hon. Ogah enjoy overwhelming grassroots support.

Calling on his constituents and supporters to remain calm, Ogah reaffirmed his commitment to delivering quality representation and legislative service.

“I will not be distracted. The people of Isuikwuato and Umunneochi sent me to the National Assembly, and I remain focused on that assignment,” he added.

Despite the Labour Party’s announcement, Ogah insists that his mandate remains intact and his alignment with Governor Otti’s administration is stronger than ever.

Aburi behaves like a kid and a fool,

Must you tell the whole world through your body language and actions that APC is sponsoring you?

How can you be suspending your party elected officers who are supposed to be your financial pillars? We have never seen this before in Nigeria.

Aburi is just a little idiot sincerely speaking.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

The concern should be why should the FG or law enforcement agents allow individuals to openly and boldly be taking actions that's directly against the ruling of the Supreme Court of the Federal Republic of Nigeria?
It ridicules judgment from the highest court in the land.
It sends a very wrong signal to how judgements from the Nigeria Supreme Court is being obeyed.
In other climes, when such judgements are issued, the concerned persons or organisations will start implementation

I believe law enforcement agents should have taken this suspension case up and not even those allegedly suspended.

One party, 3 factions.

Labour party is not serious honestly.

Why can't they all shelve their egos and settle things amicably?

That's because Abure is working for the same person you are working for allegedly.. So any sensible person in the country understands how it's going. If someone could buy 100m forms for many persons,so they could step down for him to win primaries allegedly, there is absolutely nothing he can't do to distablise any opposition . Wike is another good example,in the other opposition
