SUPPLY OF ELECTRICITY TO THE PUBLIC IS NOT ROCKET SCIENCE.

Okay, Obasanjo didn't invent GSM. He did not make campaign promise of providing Nigerians with GSM communication technology. But Nigerians got GSM communication system under Obasanjo administration.

Buhari or Tinubu did not invent public electricity supply.
Buhari and Tinubu made campaign promise of providing Nigerians with sufficient electricity supply.
Buhari and Tinubu have failed to provide sufficient electricity supply to Nigerians after about 10 years they are in power in Nigeria. How?
Ebilokan has always been synonymous with failure, corruption and crime.

From drugs in America to the Enron barge scandal in Lagos and now the fiasco of APC shege fraudulently sold to us in propaganda lies of change 10 years ago, Yekini Amoda Ogunlere has been, and continues to be a disaster!

Is Aba Geometric, started in the same Obasanjo PDP era not operating now just as the Dangote refinery started in the Jonathan PDP era? What is the excuse of ebilokan and his successors for their Enron failure apart from stealing, looting, fraud and corruption?

Judge hands out prison time in Enron barge scam

Ex-Enron, Merrill execs sentenced. A repentant Boyle gets nearly four years for his involvement in barge scandal

May 13, 2005

Former Enron executive Dan Boyle was sentenced to nearly four years in prison Thursday, while Robert Furst and William Fuhs, both former Merrill Lynch bankers, received more than three years — all for their roles in the Enron Nigerian barge scam.

Boyle, sentenced to three years and 10 months in prison and fined $320,000, was the only one who appeared repentant about pushing through a sham sale of energy-generating barges to the bank so Enron could pump its earnings and bolster its stock price.

"I'm the only one responsible for my actions and omissions and for the pain I caused each and every person I affected," the Clear Lake resident told the judge. "I'm truly sorry."

Do a quick search on Motophone Nigeria. Then you would know that he is not far from the truth. My friend was working for Motophone.

aworatak:
Which Abacha? The same Abacha’s era where you had to pay up to N100,000 to purchase Nitel land line or over 20,000 for Mtel monthly subscription.
It’s obvious you are the one talking nonsense and crap combined.

Obasanjo just happened to be the President at a time when that specific technology came

All this praise singing is ridiculous

He did not invent the mobile phone technology

We do not praise any president for being there when Land telephones, electricity came to Nigeria , When Television came, When Flushing toilets came , when water started flowing from taps, when the motor car came,

The technology was already there as early as 1997 in Benin Republic next door. Political instability was what delayed its introduction in Nigeria. Abacha was on the verge of granting licenses to operators circa 1998.

The ones in power now want to ban solar importation. Infact, they would have announced introduction of GSM but keep promising us throughout their tenure that official launch will happen soon.

Olodo.
The first GSM company in Nigeria was MTS and it was late Abacha that introduced GSM to Nigeria.
MTS already rolled out in Lagos and it was Abdulsalami that canceled their license.
It was the same MTS frequency was Obasanjo sold to Adenuga that made him went to bcus MTS was still in court with federal govt trying to get back their license.

We have technology now for bullet trains, power generation has never been this easy, different sources including solar and nuclear, agriculture technology that can increase yield by over 300% how come this government and the previous disastrous ones have been unable to take advantage of them?

Then it was something else and not mobile phones. Because the fact of the matter is that it was May 6,2001 that mobile telephony came into Nigeria
There are other mobile devices that isn't GSM.
I had a classmate in school then that uses one, he from a wealthy family, so he and his siblings were given a gadget each, they use it to communicate in sch and their parents also use it to communicate with them.
I think it's like a walkie talkie system, as it kinda work on some specific frequency. It looks a bit fancy with flashy colours

This article does not mention the early (CDMA) players–the Multilinks, the Emis, the Starcomms, etc. Some of them were operating before Econet and MTN. People had mobile phones in Nigeria before Econet and MTN came.

The GSM network was introduced to Nigeria in 2001 and not before. Before wè had only Landlines being controlled by Nitel
There were mobile phones in Nigeria before GSM. Multilinks, Starcomms and other CDMA networks were operating in Nigeria before the GSM people opened shop.

Olusegun Matthew Okikiola Obasanjo alone, because of the restart of Telecoms sector in 2001,and improvement it brought into our daily lives and business efficiency, reduction in travel time, GDP grew by 15.3%.

The Nigerian Economy took a 360 degree positive turnaround

Obasanjo achieved that and more. But these useless people who have absolutey nothing to offer except to improvish the Nigerian People and play nothing but ethnic politics.

Till tommorow,They cannot lace Obasanjo's shoes
Morally and Intellectually bankrupted individuals continue to cast aspersions on Obasanjo even though their entire history cannot complete a chapter in Obasanjo's book. APC really is cursed. If only Obasanjo had kpaied the drug addict when he was president, he could ride the country of a big mess

There are so many technologies evolving everyday especially in the developed countries. Why are the leaders at the point of these tech not bringing it to the country?

Why are they not even able to support the local tech?

Give honour to whom it is due.

wrong!
He may have made the first call during the official lunch...
But the person(s) who made the FIRST CALL would be the Core Network/Transmission/Wireless engineers who worked hard in the background to make it happen.

Did we we honour to any other president for happening to be in power when any other technology arrived?

Or is that the only technology that has come to Nigeria?

What about the other technologies that have been around for ever that he could not bring like power and refineries that work?
Who was in office when Television came to Nigeria? Traffic lights, Toothpaste, Telephones, and so on

You need to keep quiet and stop making noise

I remember the day my girlfriend and I went to buy our first mobile phones in 2002. After paying, those criminals at Onitsha insisted that we must buy antenna . We told them that we don't have money for any antenna.
Long story cut short.....some passers-by (guys) intervened and settled the matter.
