This here is why Tinubu's case is different because he never defected alone but carved out his own faction from the NADECO AD and from there had a split with some of those he formed AC from AD and then took his loyalists to form ACN.

If you check well, Tinubu has never defected on his own to another party. Rather , he has been creating his own party from AD up till present APC which he now holds supreme.

It's a lesson that all politicians like the wandering duo of Atiku and Giringory seem not to get.

You don't defect from one party to another already pre-existing party .

You build your structure within a party and if you are not having your way, you take your loyalists out and form your own .

So , technically, Tinubu has never defected but rather he has been creating his own platform.

Hate him all you like. I myself was never a fan of Tinubu but you should admire his tenacity and his doggedness plus his ability to rally a following behind him and form a political structure.

The likes of Atiku and Giringory have never built any party from scratch but are mere opportunists who seek existing platforms to use as SPVs

That's why Atiku is now wandering from PDP to SDP and Giringory has successfully squandered the following he had in LP.

The CPC faction of the APC have been spoilt silly under Buhari's rudderless and zero leadership of the party . That's why they can't reconcile the APC having a strong central leadership and are defecting to cause more confusion in SDP where Atiku the destroyer and the midget micro terrorist are currently cooling off.

As for Giringory , his Midas Touch on reverse mode has been a Hallmark of his political career. Any whee he goes , he destroys .

PDP should consider Giringory as the worst thing to happen to their party starting from when Giringory secured a supreme court order to oust Ngige from Government House, Awka. Since then, the PDP has never been of relevance in Anambra .

Then when Giringory defected to the PDP from his sworn life party APGA, he brought his confusion to scatter PDP SE after GEJ foolishly made Giringory head of his SE reelection campaign office. This didn't go down well with PDP stalwart in the region and they showed their displeasure by not mobolizing for GEJ in 2015. The lack lustre and voter aparthy witnessed in the SE was because GEJ appointed Giringory as head of his SE campaign office. Greedy Giringory refused to even release money on time and when he did it was too little and too late.

Later in 2019, PDP had Atiku and Giringory on the ballot I can say that Giringory cost Atiku votes in the SW .

Then in 2023, Giringory left PDP for LP and that is how PDP lost the election after Giringory carved SE votes that ought to go to PDP

There's no other individual who has caused PDP more losses and headaches than Giringory.

Normally, PDP should effect a life ban on Giringory ever joining their party . Giringory should return to APGA were he swore an oath to Ojukwu that he will never abandon because that oath he failed to uphold is what is causing bad luck to follow Giringory and any party he defects to

Defection simply means leaving the party that brought you to office to join another one
If Tinubu had any integrity, he should have resigned as governor in 2005 when he left AD. But because he's also like every typical Nigerian politician, he took the votes belonging to AD and stole them for his party called AC

The APC rigged the elections by allocating votes meant for PDP to LP.
