Someone hit my car from behind on Tuesday night at Eliozu, Port Harcourt. It was a black Toyota RAV4, and the driver fled, but I got his plate number. Someone advised me to report it to the police as a stolen vehicle—that way, when they find him, they’ll contact me. Another person suggested going to the road safety/license office, as they might help retrieve his details (address, NIN, etc.) to trace him further.

It’s not like I want to track his home and harm his family—I just want his information. How can I go about this discreetly, without leaving traces?

This happened at Eliozu. All I have is his plate number, and I want to trace him without involving the authorities. I’m willing to pay ₦1M to get to him.

You might want to track and trace him to his registered address but what if the person is deadly and does you harm? This is Nigeria. Just move on.

You said you don't want to involve the authority, just forget about it.
If you want him to pay for damages,then you have to involve the authority by making an official report or statement.
First make a report at the nearest police station, the drive as already committed an offence by hitting and running away.

You don't want to follow legal process because you cant prove it that the number plate you have was actually the car that bashed your car!

i have experienced what you are feeling now as well as that special crave to prove to the individual "you can't just mess with anybody you see and escape"

Imagine ,u dey snap plate number,instead make u pursue am ,scatter him headlights and fenders.i rem when one useless man hit me from the rear and raced away,hahahaha.i pursue am am,no use 3.7l engine play,when the man saw me from rear mirror approaching with speed. He quickly parked by the side and started forming call. Luckily for me,we were 4 in the car. He later got disarmed of 50k . With a lot of slaps. Dashcam no dey lie na

Since you have such amount of money to spear, report him to police and drop his plate number. If he's caught, he will pay for all your expenses. Don't put law into your hands. We know the country is not heading into the right direction no means say even we no go do the right thing
