ElevationD:Nice one. It is also said that the original name was “igbo e bi n’uzo” meaning Igbos that live by the road as it is believed that igbo settlers that came into Asaba were given the area to live but they expanded and started to intermarry, thus influencing language and culture. That’s why the Aniocha people and the Onitsha people believe that they are not Igbos (as read in the memoirs of late Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe) and is evident in their cultural heritage.

ElevationD:The most prominent citizen of ibusa is Fred Ajudua. Someone who scammed the ex COAS millions in prison. That is a great man. Don't be ashamed to say the truth. No full clap for you 👏 |

Mrexcell:Did you enjoy the narrative? Are you from Igbuzor? I love the history of Anioma people as a whole, which includes the Ukwuanis. I can discuss it the whole day. They are great people. Very friendly, easily forgiving, enjoy their dance, their music, pounded yam and nsala. Very great people. The whole of the SE is a beauty in culture, tradition and enjoyment. Next I may talk about marriages and Christmas celebration. The church plays a very prominent role in these matters. |

Peppermaster:The church's founding story is fascinating to Anioma historians. After Ibusa chiefs opposed British missionaries, Obi Egbune, the Obi of Issele-Uku accepted the British offer in his community, leading to Ibusa's eventual surrender because Ibusa mercenaries had the intention to fight on the side of Issele-Uku Please where did you get the material for the information in the bolded. I am interested |

tishbite41:Asaba man, when you leave Asaba passing under Koka bridge, you are heading first to Igbuzo, next Edo Ogwashi, next is Ogwashi uku kingdom, Ubulu uku, with Ubulu uno the left after the garage, etc, continue until you turn into Agbor/Umunede and Benin highway. Abi you no know road? When you turn right from the same Koka bridge, you are heading to Okpanam, Isele Azagba, Isele Uku, Onicha Ugbo, Agbor, all shortened until you get to Benin. When you turn left at the same Koka bridge, you are heading to Okwe, Oko junction, Niger bridge into Onitsha. Behind Asaba, you have other communities like Ugbolu, Ilah, etc. You sure say you be Asaba man? No go follow for people wey dem dey point their family mango or orange tree to after many years of absence o. Me wey no be Delta man come know your area pass you. Why na? |

ElevationD:Are you denying Fred Ajudua, a long serving prominent Ibusa citizen whose wife was a member of the House of Assembly in Asaba. Who else is greater than him in the community? He has trained many people in his long serving activities. If you have achieved what he had done for himself and his community, come forward. |

Looks like some people are trying hard to push a narrative and calm the black Catholic people since a black Pope hasn't been elected! By throwing pictures of the new pope with black guys around we will feel less pained by the situation! Over 250 popes later no black man qualifies...strange! |

https://www.pulse.ng/articles/news/local/did-you-know-new-pope-leo-xiv-visited-nigeria-in-2016-2025050911013962397 DID YOU KNOW? New Pope Leo XIV visited Nigeria in 2016 Pope Leo succeeds Pope Francis, who visited several African nations but never Nigeria during his papacy. As Catholics worldwide welcome Pope Leo XIV, a lesser-known detail about the new pontiff has emerged: his visit to Nigeria nearly a decade ago. Then known as Bishop Robert Prevost, the American-born clergyman travelled to Abuja in 2016 as part of his work with the Order of St. Augustine. The visit marked a historic milestone for the religious order. “For the first time, General Chapter of the Order of St. Augustine on the African continent — Abuja, Nigeria,” read a translated caption from a 2016 photo posted on Pope Leo’s X (formerly Twitter) account. |
