The ANSG media guys will chop your tail, o! I complained about the lack of tree planting in the government house the last time, and I was assured it would be done. It was scantily done, and the grass seeding was never carried out in a detailed manner, but they will learn with time and criticism! Shey na dem go live there? staring at patchy and red mud lawns everywhere! Who doesn't like better thing?

Even the much hyped Enugu ICC that hosted an IT summit almost suffocated the guests 2 days ago.........the cooling system failed spectacularly! The proper design and competent construction of mega projects is still a problem for our states. Too many pot-bellied politicians with emergency companies will not allow these governors to do the right thing!
It's like those spaceship looking government buildings Enugu built under Sullivan. Go and look at the condition today.

Like you said the problem with government is cronyism. They will never put projects up for competitive bidding. Instead it's awarded to cronies who inflate the price x3 and deliver shoddy work.

The model should be PPP like the way Agulu Lake Hotel is managed by Best Western or how Solution Fun City was designed and will be managed by ParkVega. State hospitals and universities should be independently managed with competent boards.

I HAVE NOT SEEN A MAN THAT IS BOTH INTELLIGENT AND STUPID AT THE SAME TIME LIKE SOLUDO.

Y CANT HE JUST FOCUS HIS WORK AND STAY OUT OF APC PROB;EMS?

I'M STARTING TO SUSPECT WE HAVE AN APC GOVERNOR IN ANAMBRA.

FIRST IT WAS THE NNAMDI KANU COMMENT AND NOW PETER OBI.

Y THE UNWARRANTED CONTROVERSY AND ATTRACTING HATRED TO YOURSELF.

BOTH MEN HAVE MASSIVE FOLLOWERSHIP AND THOSE PEOPLE WILL CERTAINLY COME FOR YOUR HEAD.

EVER SINCE HE TOOK OFFICE, WE HAVE BEEN HOLDING HIM LIKE A CHILD. TUFIAKWA!
For those of you complaining about Tinubu's visitation, I don't think you know what playing politics is about. Soludo is a Master Strategist. You want Anambra to be the face of opposition to the government at the centre while other SE governors align themselves politically and gain certain favours at the detriment of Anambra, isn't it? Is Anambra the only state affiliated with Biafra? Does Anambra have any high ranking senator or house of representatives member in the APC that can corner any meaningful FG project to the state? Imo and Ebonyi are APC states and they are getting projects. Enugu is aligning underground and getting what it wanted. Abia State has Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and Orji Uzo Kalu and you saw why from building an airstrip, Abia partnered to upgrade it to a full international airport. What has Anambra gotten since playing opposition? The 2nd Niger Bridge was Buhari's magnanimity because of his friendship with Chuba Okadigbo. Yet, you are all running your mouths here. Did you see Soludo appealing to the president on certain critical infrastructures and assistance the state needed? Did you also see the president assuring him and Anambra of granting him his requests? Even Obiano played politics well and that was the reason he got the approval from Buhari's government for the airport. You can pitch your own state against the central government if you like but you all should leave Soludo and the ANSG alone.

People like you are why Nigeria is going backwards. The duty of the President is to govern the country to the best of his ability, not wait to see which State Governor is going to politically support him before he gives the State their due. There should be no preferential treatment in Government

The problem with many of you is that you criticize what you don't understand. It is good that you know that in a saner clime, the president should govern irrespective of party affiliations. Is Nigeria a sane country? Whatever agreement or affiliation Gov Soludo has with the president is between both of them and their political parties. Ndi Anambra are not APGA members. All they want is good governance and physical infrastructures and if it takes Soludo to feign a wrestling bout with Peter Obi in order for Anambra to secure a spot at the dining table, so be it!

Did you see the news that a gas pipeline is to be extended from Agbor into Onitsha enroute Akwa? Did you think the people that sidelined the entire SE from the gas infrastructure network during Buhari's administration forgot to include the SE? What about the Standard Gauge Rail Network? Wasn't it the same sidelining that they did whilst Rotimi Amaechi only took the fall on behalf of the president for reasons best known to him?

You should thank Soludo for being a Master Strategist like I said because he knew that with Peter Obi being the fiercest competitor Tinubu has at the moment, any animosity the central government holds towards Obi would cascade down to his home state of Anambra while the other 4 SE states will be getting what is due to them. Anambra can not afford to stand aloof because it wants to be both the face of opposition and the epicenter of the Biafran struggle. That move is suicidal at this point.

Is Umahi not taking FG project to his state of Ebonyi? Is Uzodinma not getting his fair share? Alex Otti doesn't even have to act for now because he has Benjamin Kalu the Deputy Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives and Orji Uzo Kalu (a high ranking senator and a friend to the administration) to get the share of Abia e.g from a common airstrip to a partnership in the construction of an international airport. Enugu has aligned with the centre codedly and you can see that most FG projects within Enugu are getting the required attention. Now, what has Anambra gotten so far? Ifeanyi Ubah that is of the APC is dead and hasn't been replaced. Who do you think that can arm - twist the FG in the legislative arm into giving Anambra her fair share? Does Bianca have the liver to influence any FG project into Anambra other than earning her salary as Minister for State and looking pretty? This was the same thing the entire SE did during Buhari that everything that was due to the region was side-stepped. Even Obiano played central politics and that was how he could get the license for the airport. Don't you think that Soludo can get a fully international airport status if he also played central politics? You want only Anambra to be playing local politics when you know that the type of projects the state need at this point in time is that which only the FG can execute.

If what it will take is for Soludo and his APGA members to form an alliance with Tinubu and the APC for Anambra to get the goodies from the centre, so be it. The other political parties have the right to pitch their own tent with Peter Obi's party. It is freedom of association, isn't it? It is not everything you need somebody to explain to you. The Bible told us that the wise men came from the East but I don't think that statement still holds true. Little wonder other regions constantly say that Igbos don't know how to play politics. You all believe in forming opposition when you know that even if the FG by - passes the entire SE for another 20 years, nothing will happen other than for Igbos to keep shouting marginalization.

You took the wrong turn and have been travelling down the wrong route for quite some time! It appears you have resigned yourself to begging, appeasement and stabbing your brother in the back just to 'align with the centre' and get what ordinarily is your constitutional due! This your way or reasoning is fast becoming rife and the norm in Nigerian partisan-politics and governance, but what we're saying is that Soludo doesn't need to sell Peter Obi for '30 pieces of silver' just to prove his loyalty to the Yoruba/Fulani hegemonic alliance!

Imo that was forcibly aligned with the centre against their will, can you tell me what significant thing they have gained over and above what other states not so 'aligned' have gained? You seem to see nothing wrong in a hateful and vengeful Buhari gov't marginalising and cheating the south-east using the pretext of them not voting for him in the 2015 election! Your arguments may sound pragmatic, but like i said, you're travelling down the wrong route and this is partly why some argue that Nigeria should find another name for the system of gov't they practicing because it sure as hell is not democracy!

I stopped reading at "It is good that you know that in a saner clime, the president should govern irrespective of party affiliations. Is Nigeria a sane country? "

I knew that anything that would follow would be trying to justify fraud and bad governance. You people are not even interested in talking about how Nigeria will be a sane country

Mr man, better take a good look at Nigeria. The country has held the title of world's poverty capital, it ranks amongst the top 10 most insecure countries on earth, the economy is free fall, the Naira has crashed against the Dollar, and inflation has made life unbearable for the common man

What does this tell you? Nothing the centre is doing is working. The North has held power in Nigeria for over 40 years of Nigeria 65 years of independence. Is there any State in the North that is "Dubai"? And I'm not talking about Abuja, it's not a state.

The only thing you people care about is continuing the same Shenanigans that keeps Nigeria in the sorry state it is in today

Soludo is an economist, can Soludo stand before God and say that the Nigerian economy has improved in almost two years of Tinibu? But barely two years to elections, even before Tinubu has officially declared running for President, Soludo has pledged support for Tinubu

Terrible

If I may ask, where and how did Soludo attack Obi in his speech?
It's obvious you did not follow/watch the live video but commenting based on bandwagon effect.

Talking about the brewery, Soludo actually praised Obi for putting up a project/bringing a president to commission it.

What I see in your understanding, comment is inferiority complex. Is it that you are not proud of the brewery?

I am right anyways. Your problem is inferiority complex.
My advice to u: start being proud of who you are and what u represent... Be man enough to take full responsibility of your action provided ur conscience is clear- this way, you will stop feeling guilty of sins u did not commit/picking offense when ppl state their truth.

God bless you.

Skyscraper buildings are investment projects. There must be a need for such buildings, but the investment profile of Awka does not merit that for now. However, many new hotels are beginning to climb the ladder in terms of height! I believe there are Hotel buildings that are approaching 10 or more storeys under construction now! By the way, ever happened to the ICC hotel construction??

Disregard the street vlogging...... but check out the town planning of Limassol, Cyprus! This is the minimum standard we ought to aim for in Anambra.................. It can be done, but everyone has to pull in the same direction! Soludo has tried but a lot of work still needs to be done; he has to inspire and persuade the investing anambra public to lend a hand too! Our people are way too aloof or is it alienated about government activities........we must begin to introduce a spirit of volunteering and social activism in our kids,,, from elementary school!

I do not see any reason why the Anambra State government will dualize roads in Onitsha GRA, provide walkways, provide solar streetlights, and residents do not contribute at least financing for the tree planting efforts or providing refuse trash cans/bins! Soludo has taken his town hall meetings to lagos, abuja and London ........but our people can be a bit docile until you learn to enforce your will! time no dey again!

Ofcourse.
I think what makes a place beautiful or attractive regardless of building types or what you construct the roads with (as long as they clean, bright colored, possibly uniform and longlasting/high quality) is orderliness. The streets, buildings, roofs, roads, walkways, vehicles, street tradings, markets, parks, grasses, flowers etc have to be in order rather than in disorder. It wouldn't cost much to keep certain things in order.

If road side trading must be allowed in certain places they must be in order. The state govt should set a standard on the kind of structures that can be used for trading. I prefer uniform structures with lines that shouldn't be crossed.
The grasses have to be dressed and uniformed. Parkings have be uniform and orderly. The buildings have to bright colored, well maintained and orderly.

Whatever is allowed in the city has to be in order. If you do this for the sake of safety it will be easy to implement or convince the people to obey.

Good points!

Some may not want to hear this, but i’ll say it anyway! Like you rightly alluded to, mindset is the koko of the matter! I think one angle to this mindset issue that’s preventing Anambra cities from taking that giant leap forward and care more for aesthetics, sanitation and greenery is the distracting culture of hustling and making money! Such a culture has now become the be-all-and-end-all to the detriment of other aspects of living that could help uplift life expectancy and quality!

Take Onitsha and Nnewi for instance. Individually, our people are as neat and as clean as can be and you notice this in their individual homes and compounds. But the moment you step outside into the city streets nobody seems to care anymore, and it’s every man for himself as they abdicate to the gov’t the responsibility for ensuring a neat and appealing environment! All Nigerian cities suffer from this problem, but it’s most noticeable in densely populated commercial and industrial centres, and this is why Onitsha and Nnewi are the centre of attention when it comes to the south-east! Aba used to have this problem, but the Otti gov’t took the bull by the horns and took up the challenge to rewrite the cities narrative. Today, Aba ranks as one of the neatest cities in the region! So, besides individual responsibility, it’s also down to the state gov’t to fulfill its infrastructure obligations as well as knock a few stubborn Igbo heads together to enforce a culture change as we see happening with Aba! Also corporate and social/cultural groups have been found wanting in this regard!

I should reiterate though that this is a city thing as lots of villas in Anambra like Alor, Neni, Okija, Osumenyi, etc, don’t seem to have this problem!

I don't understand many of you here. Nigeria is a unitary system of government. The Federal government holds most of the power and determines how resources are allocated. Except you have the resources of Lagos or Rivers state, it would be foolish for any state government to make itself an opposition government to the FG. Even in the US, a true federal system where most of the constitutional power and resources are controlled by the constituent states rather than the FG, state governments try to maintain good, cooperative relationships with the Presidency, so they can be favored in Federal projects and investments, disaster relief etc. Especially when you have a man like Trump in the White House who acts like a mafia boss, it's wise not to get on his bad side even as an opposition party governor. It's a very good thing for SE governors to look to build good, harmonious relationships with the Federal government. They can attract projects to benefit the state and tap into ecological funds for erosion control and flooding. That has nothing to do with "selling out" Peter Obi - a man that can't even bring the multiple factions of his Labour Party together. His ambitions cannot be conflated with the needs of Anambra taxpayers.

Ndigbo b'anyi are a very proud, very emotional people who seem determined to broadcast to the world how little we need anybody's alliance and help. Then spend a lot of time crying about how nobody is there to ally with us or help us. It's all very incoherent and symptomatic of belief systems and ideologies built entirely on resentment and hubris.

Stop posting nonsense. Onitsha is a million times far better than the dirty Aba in all areas of infrastructure and overall sanitation. Tomorrow you will also compare a glorified village Umuahia to Awka. We all know the propaganda going on in Otti administration, but truth is clear that Soludo is by far the best performing Igbo governor. Also Anambra is by far the most developed developed state in Igboland.

IGBOPROMISE1:

It's the job of the government to teach the people how to respect their environment and why , then make sure they entrenched the culture of keeping their street clean and tidy. It takes time to take hold but it can be achieved. Presently, we have no respect for our environment because the government isn't doing their job.

Look at the flank of all the roads Soludo built ,they aren't paved. Most of the roads has no sidewalk and sand dunes pile on the roads.

Yesterday, the team from the Nigeria Export Processing Zones Authority (NEPZA), in collaboration with ANSIPPA, visited the Anambra Mixed-Use Industrial City for an on-site assessment.

This is an important milestone in the approval of AMIC as a Special Economic Zone-Free Trade Zone and in advancing economic zones to unlock long-term investment opportunities in Anambra State.

I agree 1000% ......I do not understand how and when Peter Obi's personal ambition became synonymous with the collective interests of ndigbo in general or anambra in particular! Peter Obi will, of course, make a good president, no doubt, but we must be very pragmatic about Igbo interests too! Personally,y I do not fancy Peter Obis lack of political stamina.........his lack of political astuteness does not seem to have diminished the love people have for him, but he really needs to be very careful and patient with his presidential ambition!

He was unable to lead APGA. Atiku played him in PDP......they have played him out in LP, now the Fulani are set to cage him in PDP again, what happens to his ambition when Tinubu releases Nnamdi Kanu? However, the most critical thing now is for Ndigbo to open their eyes and pressure the southeast governors to ensure that Igbo interests are paramount when the next election of 2027 comes around............ We will support the party that can point to the critical projects they have completed and delivered in Alaigbo! Eyes wey dey cry, dey see road! No emotions here o!

The current progress of the ongoing Trauma center being constructed by Anambra state governor Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOUTH) Awka, the Anambra state capital is now in its final phase of completion. This modern structure features provisions for an elevator and other contemporary facilities. Upon completion, it will significantly enhance Anambra state's health sector, providing specialized care to traumatized patients within the state and neighboring states.

I will continue to post my nonsense here o! It is my opinion, and I am entitled to it! Igbo interests first. We have no permanent friends in politics and no permanent enemies, but our interests remain sacrosanct! If supporting APC in the interim will land us projects, so be it! If supporting Labour party and Obi will land us projects,,,so be it! It has never been wise for Ndigbo to pack themselves into one party for decades( PDP) ......did it land us any substantial benefits.......NO!

By the way....if you want us to descend into the online gutters....I am game!
