I doubt, in damis review he was charging the battery at 60a(haisic 12v inverter) even though the recommended is 40a and maximum 75a. Check your pv breaker or inspect your cables
are the wires supposed to get hot during peak sunlight?

It's probably a fake copper 6mm cable which couldn't handle your current inflow from the panel. Your 6mm should not be hot

Get a secondary way to test the cc in another step up around your location before considering this my opinion stated below

Get a 4mm Coleman solid red/black cable and run it straight from panel to CC.

State your location, somebody might be around to help you out

What is your controller to battery wire size?
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by jonescosmos(m): 2:33pm On May 11, 2025
One of the reasons I stayed stuck with Deye.

Dam5reey1:
Deye na better Soup oo..

Efficiency 97% DC to AC conversion stop wasting unnecessary power in conversion. Even 5kwh batteries will last very well.

1750/1800

If you have 5kwh batteries, this will mean you can use 4850wh on the AC side compared to most inverter with 87%, which gives on 4350wh.. a whole 500wh saved..

About 97% .......This is impressive.
After seeing your post, had to check mine. Damn the difference opor.
Mine ranges from 83% to 90%. Poor at low loads but fair a bit when the load is more than 1kw.
I feel the most objective way to check for efficiency is to drain battery from full to LVD and see the cumulative DC energy(Kwh) converted by inverter to usable AC energy (kwh)
I will be doing that soonest.. but this Deye dey perform magic oo. Even the MPPT super efficient.. grin A very good Toy..

You can bypass the breaker to rule out a bad breaker option

4800W + 4800W confirmed. Cause I saw 4800w briefly on a single String.

Confirm if your battery can accept charges from the grid?
Can you battery and inverter without cc been connected power your load?
This will help isolate where the problem lies

Your issue is between battery cable, mcb and battery. Most likely mcb. But since your cable gets hot, the root cause is undersized cable. Increase that 10mm

I'm not sure but i went through the manual of the inverter, it doesn't support more than 200ah battery,

It has just charging profiler of 50ah,100ah and 200ah support.

But my new battery is 280ah. I guess that's why it's not charging, I'm not sure sha.

Pls going by the recent discussions here, what's the recommended panel for a 3kva 12v setup with 4kw battery and 60A CC

I'm considering 4 pcs 250w Trina Panel or 2 pcs 550w Jinko panel

If your old battery is still with you, test it with it

What was the size of the old Batteries and if it's Lithium ion phosphate batteries..

It may be that your old batteries is not taking as much current as this new one.

I charged that batteries at 60A without issues.

the old battery is 1.2kwh 100ah. Lifepo4

Yes the old battery doesn't take as much current as the new battery that's why I'm having all this issue.

I'll be changing my breakers to 100amps breakers tomorrow. The current one is 60amps.

morning chief, please I have custom built lfp battery with the upper bigger terminals as the inverter or discharge ports, and the small bottom terminals as the charging ports like solar and chargers.

It's a 105ah battery capacity, can i add a cworth 100ah lfp battery to it in parallel to increase my capacity? Can they be compatible?

If yes, which of the terminals do I run the parallel connection from?
If this is the inverter you are using, there's is a likely hood that the Inverter has developed fault.

The "main trip" notification is probably when the inverter cannot sense input from utility.

For your battery, confirm there's output on the battery terminal.

If there's is output, try to discharge it and charge it again.

just tire, how can I ascertain this? Battery still dey under warranty o.
1. Could be a runaway cell. Unfortunately no smart BMS to check individual cell voltages. Or anything battery related. Maybe test with another battery.

2. Could be wiring. 6mm from PVs should be fine even at 28A, as long as it's actually 6mm though. 10mm from cc to battery may not be adequate, though. 10mm is fine for up to ~ 50A, which is a max of about 700w in a 12v system. Check if cable is getting hot.

3. You could be going above that MPPT's max current. Heard it happens with some.
Take out one string and see if issues persist with just two panels.

what really baffles me is the controller goes as high as 800 plus watts on a 12v system.

I saw 800w watts today before it tripped off.

there is an output on the battery, no thats not the inverter I'm using, it's sukam falcon plus 1.5kva

More reason why you will only find 1000w on 12V Hybrid with 60A CC.

You have oversized the PV to X2 of the rated capacity at 12V

The battery just there to receive whatever comes from PV and CC.

Hi, I use your exact inverter too and the two occasions I've had the MCB Trip issue was an unusual power surge (from Nepa) so the inverter trips to protect itself. If I raise the trip at the back up it works after the current stabilizes.

I think your charge controller might be the issue too, I use an 80A mppt that can take 1040w but I have a 1185w PV array.. a little close to the specs.

If you check the trip at the back and is down u can try raising up if it will come up
