When a woman decides to wear what someone else prefers it is because she has a reason to submit to the authority of such a voice, usually out of fear or anxiety e.g. fear of abandonment(in marriage/relationship), fear of rejection, fear she might lose her financial supporter, or fear that she may be cast out by the authority voice or society.

So, when you say it is not only the rich that request their women to dress up in a particular way they like, you forget that it is not only the rich that can hold something over a woman. Even a poor man married to a broke wife has something he can hold over her to force her to dress in a way that is against her own will.

While I ain't have anything to do with any of your many religions, indecent dressing is not a criminal or civil offense even in Nigeria, and as such it is not up to anyone or any group to decide for others how they can or cannot dress. Please carry this dictatorial religious mindset/fanaticism into some gutter somewhere, as this is 2025, and no people should live under fear or anxiety because of any group, abeg!

While I may not support wearing seductive clothes to religion houses, people can wear anything they are comfortable with outside of this places, and that shouldn't be anyone business. Besides, no law or anywhere in our constitution says that you cannot dress in a particular way in Nigeria.

I was coming from my pastor's house on a Friday afternoon but before their jummat prayer. Properly dressed even with a scarf. I was almost beaten up for exposing my neck. Thank God for someone that knows me and saw the way those alfas in their teens were approaching me with cane.

I don't know why it's like that. Must none Muslims put on hijab?
