She is pointing out the level of religious imposition in Ilorin for all to realize that the situation is already bad. If women are not careful, burqa's will become their lot regardless of their private beliefs. sad sad sad
Also, note. It's not correct. Only meagre certain areas are like that here. Kwara poly girls around UITH and poly gate environs and Unilorin girls at Tanke and Oke-odo wear the worst that could make any Miami girl go green with envy and no one really bats an eye. Heard Kwasu girls no send anybody too.

So, don't lump the whole of Ilorin into your judgement, amigo.

8 years, no hit. Now, you chose to repay that with vindictiveness. I know it must really hurt. Keep hurting

The fact that there exists a part of the city— public spacewhere people are not allowed to live in freedom is a bad thing... stop trying to normalize foolishness, please! undecided

Why do we have to fight a battle for any god?

Even if it's on a Friday, why can't we leave the god and heavens to fight or judge her?
Re: Thank God It Wasn’t On A Friday” – Lady Shares Her Experience At Oja Oba Market by LIVINGICONREBOR: 11:09pm On May 11, 2025
Kobojunkie:
A confident woman would confidently wear what she wants to without fear or concern for the opinion of others. When a woman decides to wear what someone else prefers it is because she has a reason to submit to the authority of such a voice, usually out of fear or anxiety e.g. fear of abandonment(in marriage/relationship), fear of rejection, fear she might lose her financial supporter, or fear that she may be cast out by the authority voice or society. undecided

So, when you say it is not only the rich that request their women to dress up in a particular way they like, you forget that it is not only the rich that can hold something over a woman. Even a poor man married to a broke wife has something he can hold over her to force her to dress in a way that is against her own will. undecided

See how christians are supporting indecent dressing?Whereas we know how women dressed during the time of “jesus”.Even Mary ,mother of “Jesus” wore hijab.

Modern christianity/pentecostalism,na big scam!

One idiot was even claiming to have spent 8yrs in Ilorin as if there is any society that is 100% free of exceptional and immoral behaviour.

Rather than face the issue of indecent dressing, they would rather look for justification of bad behaviour.

Rubbish!

1. While I ain't have anything to do with any of your many religions, indecent dressing is not a criminal or civil offense even in Nigeria, and as such it is not up to anyone or any group to decide for others how they can or cannot dress. Please carry this dictatorial religious mindset/fanaticism into some gutter somewhere, as this is 2025, and no people should live under fear or anxiety because of any group, abeg! undecided

This definitely happened in ilorin. May God save us!
Omo! This is a cause of concern. The level of tales of religious fanaticism i am hearing from ilorin is not wonderful news.

This is not news we should take with a pinch of salt.

What if it were a “Friday”, so the trader would assault her for showing cleavage in a democratic country? undecided

What anybody wears shouldn’t be anybody’s concern, so far he/she adhere to the law. “Genitals” are not exposed.

We are crossing a dangerous line in this country, may we not have a massive religious war because we feel that is the only way to cut the excesses of a particular religion. na from clap dance dey start

For you to admit no woman should expose seductive parts of their body, you be olórí burúkú too.

By the way, you must have been a serial failure to spend 8 years in a place you don't like schooling...

It is well with your poor soul

That Kwara state and hypocrisy sha... 70% of the muslims in Kwara are involved in one juju or the other, but they just love harassing innocent people living their lives. Anyways, I am not surprised.
The same hypocrites men won't mind to date her like that if she give them opportunity but would be forming holy in public to appeal good to others.

While I may not support wearing seductive clothes to religion houses, people can wear anything they are comfortable with outside of this places, and that shouldn't be anyone business. Besides, no law or anywhere in our constitution says that you cannot dress in a particular way in Nigeria.

I was coming from my pastor's house on a Friday afternoon but before their jummat prayer. Properly dressed even with a scarf. I was almost beaten up for exposing my neck. Thank God for someone that knows me and saw the way those alfas in their teens were approaching me with cane.

I don't know why it's like that. Must none Muslims put on hijab?
