Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, and governors elected on the platform of the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are currently meeting over the state of the party.

Also attending the meeting are former Governors of the PDP, who are still members of the party.

The stakeholders are expected to discuss the way forward for the party in view of the recent wave of defections and agree on the date for the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting tentatively slated for May 27.

The Governors and former Governors will also discuss the issue of coalition, how to resolve the issue of National Secretary and the coming convention slated for August.

Among those present as at the time of starting the meeting were Governors Seyi Makinde, (Oyo), Caleb Mutfwang, (Plateau), Bala Mohammed (Bauchi), Ademola Adeleke (Osun), Ahmadu Fintiri (Adamawa), Peter Mbah, (Enugu), Dauda Lawal, (Zamfara).

The former governors includes Ahmed Muhammed Makarfi, (Kaduna), Bukola Saraki, (Kwara), Gabriel Suswan, (Benue), Babangida Aliyu, (Niger) Achike Udenwa, (Imo), Liyel Imoke (Cross River), Aminu Tambuwal, (Sokoto), Olagunsoye Oyinlola, (Osun), Seriake Dickson, (Bayelsa), Samuel Ortom, (Benue), Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, (Enugu), Ibrahim Shekarau, (Kano), Okezie Ikpeazu, (Abia) and many others.

What would they possibly be discussing in a meeting?

Fubara's inability to clip wike's wings is the reason the PDP has not disciplined Wike. Someone who appears more powerful than his puppet state governor is an asset you treat with caution...he has been a liability to the PDP though but I am making a point.

They said that wike foisted the leadership on the party and because of that, they can't rise against him.
Maybe it is time those who are not supporting him should try leaving the PDP for him, because he is only using them to play ludo.
His sole aim iin the PDP s to liquidate the party and his soul is no more in PDP.
So why do they still run to him?
They should all join the APC or follow another party.
But talking about the PDP right now, with Wike controlling the party from the APC is useless.

The truth is this meeting is in the best interest of the governors, Wike, the party and everyone connected to it.
I'm very sure Wike himself is no longer comfortable with the way APC is handpicking people from the south south, especially those governors and bigwigs.
Better he makes moves to secure himself before BAT sees that he is no longer useful to him and then do away with him which will eventually leads to his downfall that so many people are praying for.

For 8ys straight under Buhari's tenure, Wike floated the PDP on his own.

He ensured that Edo became PDP and was bankrolling not just the Party's secretariat but funding elections of its members.

After the betrayal he got from the party at their presidential primaries owing to Atiku's greed and Tambuwal's treachery, he hands off and fron there the party began it's slippery slope .

The fact that they (past and present governors) are convening a meeting with Wike should tell you something on how they know betraying Wike was the worst mistake .

Expell Wike. He doesn't care. Wike will even do more harm to the party when he is formally expelled by ensuring that those who betrayed him will never ever become politically relevant ever again

I think we should get more sympathetic and sincere with Fubara.

He was doing just fine, until Tinubu stepped in actively to help Wike.

Tinubu was always helping Wike codedly and passively but despite that Fubara was giving him a bloody nose.

The SOE by Tinubu was the point he actively got involved.

And Tinubu is a desperately and shameless power monger who won't stay aloof like Buhari would.

Tinubu would fully take the side of Wike if the fight continues.
