JAMB does not give admissions... There is admission process (Post UTME) carried out by virtually all Universities, who then make recommendations of admitted candidates. Is JAMB a University?

Book Sense is about getting a certificate!
The certificate is to get a job!
Job for Salary which is not designed to make the worker rich!

There are too many critical things school doesn't teach e.g certain values, skills, how to set up & run a business, motivational ideas, innovativeness, creativity, etc)

Many certificates are currently practically useless.....and owners are frustrated, take up low jobs, just begin to acquire tech, entrepreneur & other skills....or into outright criminality....yahoo, kidnapping, etc

Trust me guys, social and parental factors contributed to this young girl's suicide. Some parents/guardians get verbally and at times physically abusive every time their wards don't meet their expectations. I know a 16yo who travelled for post UTME and didn't pass. Her dad angrily told her to remain with her aunt and not return home till she gets admission.

Children should be raised in emotionally safe environments. The society is toxic enough, so the nuclear family should always be a refuge.

Who knows what the 19yo was put through last year for not securing admission. Parents and guardians, we need to do better.

That's one of the lies I spotted. However, JAMB don't send admission notification via email, it's direct on JAMB CAPS.

Nobody should come here to blame the parents for pushing her too hard o.

Competition is one of the basic interractions of living things. We live in a competitive world. Even the theory of Darwin in Evolution Theory states that "weaker organisms who can't compete will eventually be replaced by stronger organisms".

And as Dr. Viru Sahastabudhe aptly puts it in that Indian Movie; "Compete or die".

Na only me know wetin my ears heard from my dad when I failed my first POST-UTME. My parents bad mouth na follow come. Or should I mention how my wife also nagged me to stupor when I lost my job then. All those harsh experiences spurred me to get better.

I can't raise a weakling as a child. If you fail your exam, then be ready to face the music. But committing suicide just because you want to escape the consequences is a No-no. If you fail this year, study harder and pass next year. #Period.
