Human rights activist and presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has criticized the Labour Party, describing it as a “short-term renter” in Nigeria’s political space. Speaking during a media chat in Abuja, Sowore argued that the Labour Party lacks the ideological foundation and structural depth required to lead Nigeria forward. “The Labour Party is not here to stay. It’s a short renter in Nigeria’s political arena, not a serious platform for real transformation,” he said. Sowore accused the party of riding on temporary public sentiment without offering any long-term solutions to Nigeria’s problems, particularly in governance, security, and economic reform. His remarks have stirred debate online, with many Nigerians expressing divergent views on social media. While some agree with Sowore’s blunt assessment, others defend the Labour Party’s rising popularity among youth and first-time voters. The Labour Party has yet to respond officially to Sowore’s comments. GET MORE EXPENSIVE NEWS ON DOBBLOG COM

SeeWahala:He is an Itsekiri man, Peter Obi is an Igbo man, Nigeria ethnic-tribal-majority politics doesnt favour him. That aside, he is a far better politician than Peter Obi, at least he has record of fighting for something and he isnt running from one party to another as a true political opportunist would do instead he has stayed firmly in his minor party. |

The stupidity of many obidenses remains the fact that when Obi talks about government, APC or Tinubu, their eyes are blind to see his obsessions but when someone now talks about Obi, their blind eyes quickly open to see and accuse others of being obsessed with Obi. The question is who is that sensible person that will be obsessed with a man who by all definition represents failure in all ramifications. The same man that they were cursing and abusing when he was governor now suddenly becomes their messiah because of tribalism. Ironically, they are the first to accuse others of tribalism. What a shame! |
