Boko Haram Seizing Military Weapons Worth Trillions – Rep Gadgi by attackgat(op): 5:56pm On May 13, 2025
Honourable Yusuf Adamu Gadgi, a member of the House of Representatives, has claimed that Boko Haram insurgents have seized military assets worth trillions of Naira during attacks on military bases across Nigeria’s North-East region.

Gadgi made the statement while contributing to a motion moved by Honourable Ahmed Satomi from Borno State.

The motion addressed the recent fire outbreak at a military arms depot in Giwa Barracks, Maiduguri, and the increasing attacks by Boko Haram in Borno and Yobe states.

Gadgi claimed that the scale of destruction being inflicted by insurgents on military equipment is unprecedented.

He warned that failure to take swift and decisive action could have dire consequences.

He said: "I was shocked by what Boko Haram did at Giwa Barracks and other military facilities. There’s a serious threat to the security and safety of Nigerians, and even to the country itself."

Gadgi pointed out that the National Assembly had allocated significant funds for the purchase of over 40 combat vehicles and other weapons for the military, amounting to trillions of naira, to ensure the protection of citizens.

"How can we guarantee the safety of the people under such conditions, when insurgents can seize these weapons?" he asked.

"The National Assembly is doing its best to address security matters, but government agencies must also take responsibility. The President must launch an investigation into the conduct of top military commanders and other security agencies, and take appropriate action.

"We must also summon these agencies to explain why they are failing in their duties."

The lawmaker cautioned that continued negligence from the government and its security apparatus would erode public trust—posing a major threat to political leadership and national stability.

"If action is not taken quickly, Nigerians may be forced to defend themselves, and they could begin to see us, their leaders, as enemies—just like they see Boko Haram," he warned.

lies. You mean they siezed superior weapons worth trillions with inferior weapons? Or maybe they bought inferior weapons for NA for trillions.

Boko Haram is not a threat. Peter Obi is their biggest threat. That’s why they never stop talking about him.

And guess what, you will never hear Sowore talk about things like this.

The fool is playing his own opposition only against Peter Obi.

I just watched the latest video from Marte in Borno, soldiers are now endangered species. something big is around the corner. Igbo boys who didn't not join the military dodged not a bullet but a nuclear bomb. I have realized why Patience Jonathan is not interested in Aso Rock.

Yearly budget for an enterprise that thrives on bloodshed. It is a business venture that's not going to end, when it becomes illegal for citizens to seek military grade weapon to defend themselves.

The military men are culpable and complicit in the ongoing security challenges bedeviling the Nation. There are informants and insiders among them who are sabotaging the good efforts of others. These saboteurs sell these weapons directly to the Boko Haram Idiots

Sometimes in 2021, there was a reported mutiny in 82 Division Barracks, Enugu.

The cause? Igbo soldiers were protesting their mass deployment to the Northeast to combat insurgency. Only few northerners were part of the list.

The incident made the news and gave Igbo boys the more reason not to join the military anymore.

Trust me, I know in some 20 to 30 years time, Southeast will feel the impact of our boys refusing to join the army today. But how can you blame Chinonso for not joining military when going to do boy boy in Onitsha will turn out more profitable for him on the long run that he may even end up having soldiers as escort.

One problem we're facing in Nigeria today is that those who should be worried and talking about the boko haram and fulani terrorists threats are more interested in running a smear campaign on private citizen Peter Giringory Obi who's to a logical observation a far lesser threat to anything

Nigeria Army is fighting a symmetric warfare against an entity that is employing assymetric tactics and guerrilla strategy

The concept of a Forward operating base is an aberration and sacrilegious

You can almost call the FOB Boko Haram weapons shopping depot

At this point the biggest funder in terms of transfer of military equipment to Boko Haram is the Nigeria Govt through the Nigeria Army

The army must adopt assymetric tactics and tactical campaigns with scheduled rotations and stop the transfer of weapons to Boko Haram

A much better approach is to use Mercenary tactics with highly mobile teams constantly on rotation with massive air support for Intelligence gathering and troops refreshments instead of a fixed FOB attacked at night when the guards are down

This involves a significant willpower at the very top otherwise the transfer of weapons to Boko Haram will continue

This implies a change of objectives

The object should not be to hold an area, the objective is to run massive intelligence beforehand and strike targets on each mission to take out opposing combattants with objective to dissolve each new group formed by Boko Haram in a zone
