We just don't get it do we? We have absolutely no business exporting gas to anybody What you are putting in those pipelines is your children's future Ask what are they going to use that gas to do in Europe Why can't they do that in Nigeria? They will buy the gas cheap and use it to make expensive stuff to you .We don't need dollars we need to raise our economy to the level that people are looking for Naira That won't happen by selling gas. Russia has many times more gas than we do but is not the leading economy in the world The leading economies are not those who sell gas but those that buy it That should be our goal What is gas used for To make cement, electricity, glass products, steel aluminium and other metal products , fertilizers, chemicals, plastic and hydrogen Why should we not make those things here Trump is not entirely crazy with his America first agenda Selling gas to Europe is making a statement to say we will never industrialize They should bring those companies to Nigeria to make steel, plastic and hydrogen Hydrogen is a future game changer. We need to wake up Bitter and painful fact Even the pipeline would be made with steel from places like China using imported energy Not one inch of pipeline would be made in Nigeria After 50 years the gas would finish and most of the money would be stolen and our grandchildren would look even more stupid than we look today as if we don't look stupid enough If they cannot use the gas here let it stay in the ground |

We Should Not Be Carried Away by Any Humongous Amounts being Mentioned. THE QUESTION ❓ IS- WOULD IT BENEFITS ALL NIGERIAN MASSES IN THE LONG RUN? HOPE IS NOT THAT NIGERIA WILL BE CHEATED - AS Our LEGISLATORS - SHOULD RATHER EMPLOY INDEPENDENT EXPERTS FROM OTHER COUNTRIES TO CRITIQUE THE VIABILITY IN THE LONG RUN. FOR LET US CHECK ✔️ CAREFULLY AND EXAMINE THOROUGHLY BY ENSURING THAT AND IN THE LONG TERM -ANYTHING FROM MUSLIM COUNTRIES- BENEFITS -IS NOT A FLUKE TO OUR GENERALITY IN NIGERIA. DO OUR LEGISLATORS HAVE SUCH EXPERTS AT HANDS? PUBLIC INTEREST SHOULD BE PARAMOUNT AND FAR ABOVE PERSONAL AND SELFISH OR ETHNIC OR RELIGIOUS INTERESTS.💻 FOR ONCE YOU ENTERED THE AGREEMENT,IT MAY BE DIFFICULT NOT TO Follow TRUE. |

The problem with this is that as soon as it is completed we may begin to hear about acute shortages of gas in Nigeria on account of some profligate government selling the stuff years in advance to collect money to fund their lavish lifestyles. Without getting the basics right Nigerians have no cause to applaud any of these stories. I could vividly remember all that was trumpeted about the LNG projects during the Babangida era and how it was finally going to trigger an industry led revolution and prosperity for decades to come. Fast forward thirty five years and gas is unreliable and unaffordable for the vast majority of Nigerians and the vauted benefits to the economy has seen Nigerians poorer today than in 1990. Today government is telling us to buy crude at international prices to refine locally. Tomorrow we will struggle with Europe to pay for our own gas while we have a zero say on what or how the revenues are spent. If the natural resources of Nigeria has directly benefitted you, raise you hand for a head count..... |

omonnakoda:Are we going to keep waiting to be able to manufacture plastics, fertilizers & co while sitting on gas untapped?. We need the money, nobody is stopping us from being an industrialized nation, we have neglected gas exploration for decades which leaves us where we are. |

zero8zero:In short you do not know what you are talking about you just felt a need to quote me to disagree for the sake of disagreeing Please stay on your lane There are people who sell their family land saying we need the money They use the money to consume and when they have spent it all they look stupid That is the nature of your thinking We need the money . How much ? You don't know? What will you do with the money? You don't know. Honestly I wish people like you never quote me There is no risk of intellectual stimulation or profit just irritation |

omonnakoda:Honestly, Nigerians should be sore sick of all these pipe dreams (pun unintended). And should be seriously concerned about good and proper governance wrapped in the cloak of accountability and probity as the horse before the cart in motion about these ventures. What has the average Nigerian benefitted in terms of prosperity for the decades of investment and sales of trillions of dollars worth of minerals resources and E.I. products.... These are things that should be debated. Almost half a century after the discovery of oil we still cannot advance the industrialization needle, we cannot turn oil and gas to electric power, heck we don't even know exactly how much fuel we use domestically thoughtless of how much crude oil we export all because of corruption and quackery..... I haven't seen it 35 years after the LNG trumpet. This one is another story. |

omonnakoda:We need the money, that's a fact. I don't care how you feel. Show us what you have ever done if you think there's no need piping the gas elsewhere. Have you invested in any gas project?, do you have a fertilizer plant, plastic factory, chemical factory, etc where you contribute value to the country's GDP?. I don't care about mere talkers behind keyboards blabbing and talking smack. |

Reference:The truth is Europeans screw us on this it is very painful On a deal like this they would use consultants, insurance, lawyers accountants etc maybe 1 or 2 billion dollars All in Europe or the USA nothing for us. If there is any dispute they will go to a court in London or Paris and seize your president's jet When the project starts they will use their engineers and never teach our people or transfer technology The pipeline s are made in their country using your gas and so that $25 billion will not enter Nigeria. Zenith bank won't smell it . Access bank won't touch it will move from JP Morgan to BNP Paribas to Lloyds to Barclays They will spend millions on Insurance none of it in Nigeria Funny this is UAE I laugh at our Muslim brothers The Saudis just gifted the USA a plane What do they gift Africans They literally build a mosque every week in Africa and refuse to do anything else that is meaningful They know that in the fullness of time they will get the money back through Hajj They send trainers to these mosques in Africa and if any of the almajiris step on their feet by mistake they will literally spit on them .Fact!! No one is coming to help us with investment . They are all intended to exploit us. Morocco wants to position itself as a fertilizer powerhouse . They have the minerals but no gas To that extent they are our competitor Why should we help them?? That gas is more useful to our survival |

Displacing Russia as the monopoly supplier to Europe. It should at least double our current annual budget of 35 billion dollars. Hopefully triple it. Then, we'll be talking. |
