I thought only me noticed that. Bros the lady was in college ie university! Abi is university education free in the US? Someone brings you all the way to the US, accommodates and feed, sponsors through the process to get admission into the University, likely over a disagreement you then report that she is using you as a domestic servant or slave.
This reminds me of the UK couple that decided to house a Ukrainian lady who fled the war in her country. The lady reported her host to the authorities claiming the wanted her to do houses chores and so were enslaving her. If you reside in a household is it not proper to contribute to its cleaning?
Omo, I have said it time and time again. Never assist anyone, if you have money chop it yourself, those people you think you are assisting will be the ones that come after your head at the slightest opportunity.
This should be shared everywhere

Abroad no easy, even as you dey bring your mother or mother-in-law for child keeping, follow them talk well before dem vex one day report you for forceful labour, no payment or under payment below the minimum wage.
They will always agree in Nigeria, but when they come over their, the story will change after a few months.
I knew of some guys currently under the mercy of their mother-in-law's because the latter were brought for child keeping but now they're demanding for so much more!!

As for Bolarinwa, her own is clear case of wickedness, manipulation and system exploitation.
What are their wives doing about it? You cannot tell us the MILs are acting independently.

The alternative is to help from a distance and never bring the helped too close.

You're right, at the mercy of whether the wife is god-fearing or not. One went to court in the UK in collusion with the MIL to extort the man to pay him what they pay nannies over there; well the husband denied asking the MIL to come; his attorney brought evidence of the wife persuading her to come baby sit; case changed dimension immediately!!
She's currently in Nigeria

The house maids have many other options they could get new passports and go back to Nigeria. Aside anything assault it seems they all agreed to come and serve and do childcare for her in exchange for whatever she promised. People do it. But assault and abuse makes her wrong too
That main reason for repotting to the Police is to make asylum claim.Just like in the case of Ekweremadu. They could have abscond.

Mrs. Bolarinwa of New Jersey is a rich woman by Nigerian standards. That she was even able to bring them over to the states, speaks to this fact.

The court won't fine her those sums if she was part of the bottom feeders, even as an immigrant. $87 gees. Someone's about to cashout and head back to Nigeria to live ' large ' LOL

May God expose the remaining wicked souls that are still "kidnapping' and enslaving their fellow human beings.

Hmm, I remembered my dad's friend that asked my dad to tell me he would like his daughter to come and be living with me as my house help, I quickly told my dad that theirs nothing like omo odo in obodo Amelica. May we never pay for what will put us in trouble. In fact, like 2 other street brother and sister had contacted me for the same reason through messenger, i almost deleted the messenger because of them. God forbid bad things.

Both should be in Nigeria because I don't know how the husband will see any good in the wife again.

Lol, to even bring Nigerian as a nanny abroad is risky talk less of the one you force them to serve you. Once you bring Nigerian abroad on an agreement to do domestic work na to find how they will send you to jail and gain asylum status to remain in the country be the next thing they will do. Nigerians no easy to enter agreement with o. Betrayal full their bodies. The ones that get away with it are the very wicked people.
Re: Nigerian Woman Sentenced To 45 Months Imprisonment For Forced Labor In US by Niyione1:
The first lady is a 29-year-old Nigerian woman and niece of Dr. Bolarinwa, was sponsored by the Bolarinwas for her education, first at Ajayi Crowther University in Nigeria and later in the USA, where she moved at age 19 in 2016. Despite being treated like family and supported fully by the Bolarinwas, she began failing academically and displaying poor behavior. After the Bolarinwas warned she may need to return to Nigeria, she disappeared and never returned home. The police later confirmed she was safe but her whereabouts were unknown to her family.
She had been influenced by the 2nd lady, a 59-year-old Nigerian woman invited to the U.S. by the Bolarinwas to help with childcare. Initially welcomed warmly, she later refused to return to Nigeria as agreed. Unknown to the Bolarinwas, they had been plotting together and ultimately made false claims to U.S. authorities in an attempt to seek asylum. This led to an FBI investigation, the removal of the other lady, and temporary custody of the Bolarinwas' young daughter by social services.
