I do not agree with your second submission that the examiner doesn't believe that there is gender-based political culture among our politicians. He's only asking for suggestions on how it can be improved. You can't boost what is not available

For Naija universities exams of particular calendar session are written 1 or 2 years after.

Well I choose to argue with your correction being that it will now be a question with various opinions, and what will now be the yardstick to judge what is correct or wrong. It's better of you push the students to a direction and see how they deduce and conclude with it, than bringing up a scope that will not give a definitive answer.

I see that the issue isn't so much about the difficulty of subjects, but about perceptions about what constitutes "value" and "success."

Arts subjects like literature, history, philosophy, or fine arts engage with human experience, critical thinking, ethical reasoning, and creative expression. These are not always quantifiable and valued in the beginning, and so they’re often perceived as "easier" simply because they don’t always involve rigid structures like formulas or problem sets. Who cannot draw? Who cannot write a poem?

In many education systems, the "best students" are steered toward fields like medicine, engineering, or finance because these are seen as paths to clear, prestigious careers. Arts students, by contrast, often have to carve their own paths. That takes a different kind of courage and intelligence, one rooted in introspection, communication, and adaptability. It's a different kind of intelligence.

The truth is, the Arts don’t lack competition or depth. They often attract students who are passionate, reflective, and curious, but perhaps not always the ones who fit traditional metrics of academic "achievement." The best minds in Arts think in complex, layered ways, but that brilliance may not always be visible on a transcript.

So the question isn’t really about Arts being "simpler." It’s about rethinking what we value in education and recognizing that intellectual rigor comes in many forms, not just those with numbers and right answers.

At the end of the day, the engineer builds a world class stadium that can only be enjoyed by the creativity and atristry of footballers. When he is tired, he goes to a comedy show to enjoy the art of a funny guy
