I don't agree.. a school can be entirely free and a person of the calibre of Zuckerberg can most definitely run A free school all her life... is it not a finite amt that is spent? Is it up to $10m/annum.. pple that are centibillionaires..

IN America, Priscilla, Mark Zuckerberg's wife, set up a free school. EVERYONE was welcome, she employed very good teachers, and a lot of students passed through that school, rich and poor. Many benefited (one rich celeb who enrolled her child there said her child had thrived in the school).

After over ten years, she closed the school. Reason, it was draining the money. Her money, her husband's money.

Nothing like free school. You still have to pay taxes, pay teachers salaries, pay for books and equipment, and pay for maintenance. And unless you got a bottomless pit of money, or you have a foundation where rich people are donating billions in dollars and euros, you cannot run a free school. School dey cost money. At the end, you go charge fees, or you will drain your money sponsoring the school, or you will cose it down.

When the person builds school for free, it is the same people that will say the "someone" did not provide school bus to carry students that he is wicked, wants the children to trek under hot sun. Same people will say the person wants to starve the kids in school by not providing school food knowing they are poor. They will say he did not provide water dispensers for the kids to drink cold water or wants to injure their kids with heat in the classrooms by not providing fan, when he puts fan they will say AC nko.
Let a child get injured there or loose his life for one reason or the other, same people will say the person had diabolical motives for seeing up free school, that it is to get steady supply of kids to use for juju or to harvest their skulls or destiny. If the free school gets the kids to clean or do normal grass cutting or farm work they will claim their kids are used as manual labour or child trafficking.
Omo, if you have your money use it for yourself and betterment of you and your puppies. Chop your money, fly your family to dubai, London, China etc for goodtime, government and God will take care of the masses.

When you run a school the costs go up.

In the USA, about 30 years ago, schools that had computers usually had them in the computer room..just a few of them. And most of them had no internet, and blackboard and books were still persisitent.

Today? Schools now provide students in the USA with computers ..tablets now. All of them, where they do their school work on. Then there is far more equipment than there is now.

In ten years time, the school would have to upgrade.

And there is tax, teachers' salaries...which have to be good (Mrs Zuckerberg was employing the best, not mediocres)...and so forth.

10 million won't be enough, and the cost will go up as the years go by.

That is why she closed the school. (It is still open, it runs till the end of the school year in USA, then that is it.).
