Hull isn't better than Abuja.

It's a shithole.
You try and answer the questions.. not shouting shit hole.

Do you have 24 hrs light
Do you have available ambulances for life threatening emergencies ... let alone been free
Do you have security. Can you call police to come to your aid if you are been robbed or kidnapped.

Abeg respect yourself.

Even if they put everything including the cost of breathed air, they will still pocket as high as 1.8m monthly in Naira.
I just did an average calculation for it now and got #2.3m monthly after using an average expenditure in a UK environment
Pocketing ₦1.8 million over there is like pocketing ₦200,000 in Nigeria.

How many hospitals and medical schools did he build when he was governor of Anambra State? You people will just be packaging nonsense for Nigeria. Tinubu may not be getting somethings right, but Obi have no moral justification to talk about doctors and healthcare, when he was governor, doctors where on strike for 13 months.
Oga stop this nonsense talk. Even in Lagos during Fashola's time the doctors too went on strike the same time as their counterparts in Anambra and Fashola under Tinubu's advice sacked the doctors.

Let me refresh your memory small. The same time Anambra doctors went on strike Lagos doctors too went on strike and Fashola under Tinubu's advice savked the doctors

Why has Obi not managed Labour Party?
We are talking of national issues that affects Nigeria.

This are prices killing our people.

This are criminals like ESN, herdsmen, boko haram, bandit etc which has increased in operation resulting to more death

We are talking of decrease in government spending in all rounds.

How Nigeria is sinking low and our economy grinded.

Same way we voted Buhari twice when it was evident that he is leading us astray now he has gone where are the praise singers? Has Nigeria been better? But lets know that our action today will affect our children tomorrow

Let me sweeten this by adding this from Gemini AI

Training a doctor in Nigeria is significantly cheaper than in the UK due to government subsidies. In Nigeria, medical school tuition can range from a few hundred dollars to a few thousand, while UK citizens pay substantial tuition fees and taxpayers cover additional costs, according to a University World News article.
In Nigeria:
Public Universities: Tuition fees are heavily subsidized, with students potentially paying less than $500 for a medical degree.
Private Universities: Tuition fees can range from $6,516 to $10,860 per year or session.
Additional Costs: Besides tuition, students also need to factor in living expenses, books, and other associated costs.
In the UK:
Tuition Fees:
UK citizens pay about £9,250 per year in tuition fees, which is a substantial amount.
Taxpayer Support:
The UK government also provides funding for medical education, with an additional cost of £286,347 borne by taxpayers for medical training.
Student Loans:
Many students also rely on student loans to cover tuition and living expenses.
Additional Costs:
Besides tuition, students also need to factor in living expenses, books, and other associated costs.

We know most of them attend public university, and they will come back and tell us they are getting nothing from the govt
I guess you've never paid school fees for someone because if you have, you'll know tuition is always very cheap. Only tuition is subsidized by the government, nothing else is, and in the end you'll still spend a fortune. Tuition is usually not up to 200k but when you add other expenses you'll see yourself spending up to 2 million naira in a year.
Take this from someone who is training his wife in a university as a medical doctor

Japa for healthcare workers in Nigeria will continue unabated because the naira has lost so much value that the FG will literally collapse financially if Nigeria tries to compete with this wage structure.

Here is the monthly salary of UK resident doctors converted to Naira at the prevailing exchange rate:

Below are the conversions for the monthly take-home pay ranges provided for resident doctors in England (2024/25 pay scales, after tax/NI/pension deductions):

Foundation Year 1 (FY1):
£2,300–£2,500
£2,300 × 2,147.24 = ₦4,938,652
£2,500 × 2,147.24 = ₦5,368,100

Foundation Year 2 (FY2):
£2,600–£2,900
£2,600 × 2,147.24 = ₦5,582,824
£2,900 × 2,147.24 = ₦6,226,996

Specialty Training (ST1–ST8):
£3,000–£4,200
£3,000 × 2,147.24 = ₦6,441,720
£4,200 × 2,147.24 = ₦9,018,408
Mind you, there are bills they will av to cover too while they collect their pay check

Funny thing is that Nigerias education isn't subsidised by govt. Our standard of education is low. Our education system is cheap . It's a cheap standard of education... lecturers are paid peanuts, the lecture theatres are poor, poor infrastructure, learning aids, poor hostels.
The budget for education is smaller than the budget for Aso rock in a year... let that sink.

million naira is still not up to £1000 pounds, that won't even pay one month's cost for the cheapest courses in most Western schools, and medicine is supposed to be the most expensive.

Yes the govt is subsidising tuition, and many other things that may not be immediately obvious to you.

Appreciate them for that

Re: Monthly Salary Of Resident Doctors In The UK by HEAVEN4444: 10:19pm On May 15, 2025
Truth be told this salary is very poor. I remember one time I had this job of 25 pounds an hour. That's 52000 pounds a year. I thought I would be balling. Oh boy no balling at all oooo. But I won't lie in 6 months I managed to save 3000 pounds to buy diagnostic medical tools . But only because my babe then was claiming housing benefits to pay for the house 😅😅.without that housing benefits no savings oooo

Oh I didn't even know we have diverted to fashola? You obedient are the most useless people in Nigeria, making unnecessary noise with your lying machine. What has fashola got to do with this? I thought you messiah is busy criticising the government but never condemned atrocities happening in his backyard. Talk is cheap, anyway he knows that he can't smell that seat. Someone who failed as governor and didn't build one single school or hospital is una new messiah. Bunch of noise makers.

Soo dull. How about you also put the cost of their living expenses. You are comparing yourself to them. Do you spend in pounds? Why should they be paid in naira or equivalent to their peers in naira when they live in a more expensive society?
So why do our politicians earn more that even the prime minister of UK?

And UK doctors are said to he poorly paid

I remember what OBI said that doctors and health workers are one of our great comparative advantages

We should be building more medical schools and exporting our doctors

I'm happy South East took this offer but we need at least 20 medical collages in each state of the South East to export 10,000 doctors yearly and 50,000 nurses
Medical college is not just studying art, social sciences in school. Even the most developed nations don't go about building medical colleges anyhow.
The way u usually churn out these your numbers should be worrisome.
Nigerian doctors and nurses who travel to UK and other developed countries to work are actually trained on the job as they know nothing. Absolutely nothing about medicine.

It still take uk more money to train them on the job.

What you wouldn't see anywhere is when you go to medical courts, Nigerian health workers top the chart for medical offences.

Nurse that came from Nigeria will tell you they learnt nothing in school. Drs will be behaving like first year medical students in action.
Tuah.

We talk too much.

Some people do not realise living a standard way of life is more expensive than people living in the UK.I some homes, they must have power 24/7. imagine how much that cost. My home cost N20k in fuel for 3 days, when there is no power. This is more expensive than my electric bill for a month
