A young woman identified as Brenda has d+ed under mysterious circumstances after spending the night at the apartment of a man she met on TikTok in Warri, Delta State.

The incident, which has reignited safety concerns around online dating, reportedly occurred over the weekend. Brenda had connected with a TikTok user known as Emmypounds, and after three days of chatting, she accepted an invitation to visit him at his residence along Jakpa Road.

When Brenda’s phone became unreachable for several days, her family and friends grew worried. One of her close friends, who had access to her TikTok account on another device, reviewed her messages and discovered that she had gone to meet Emmypounds.

Upon being contacted, Emmypounds claimed Brenda had fallen ill and was taken to the hospital.
