Dangote is free to recruit from anywhere he likes because the business belongs to him and not Lagos State

IMPARTIAL:
El Rufai don begin oo!
Has he begun to do what ebilokan delegated him to do because he was cluelessly incompetent about governance huh

Maxymilliano:
The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has explained why he delegated some members of the party to respond to questions posed to him.
According to the former Lagos Governor, he adopted the delegation method “to show team-ship”.

Tinubu spoke at the Chatham House lecture titled: ‘Nigeria’s 2023 elections: In conversation with Bola Ahmed Tinubu’, monitored by The Nation.

At the lecture, Tinubu after his opening remarks, assigned Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai to speak on how his (Tinubu-led) government would address insecurity and asked the Director of Strategic Communication of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, Dele Aleke, to respond to the question on oil theft.

[quote author=TallNigerian post=135388165]Good. Now, that they have been scrutinized and given security clearance. Let us begin to ask other important questions.

1. Why did the so-called contractor have to ship in 89 workers from Katsina?
2. What happened to recruiting within the employable population in Lagos?
3. What is the motive and/or economic sense in transporting workers from Katsina burdening the company further with providing accommodation for them?
4. Will these workers pay PIT to Lagos State Government? Or will they enjoy tax free wages?
5. After the contract, will the contractor ensure their return to Katsina or leave them to add further pressure to the scare resources and over-stretched public amenities in the Metropolitan City?

Meanwhile, there's absolutely nothing wrong with shipping workers from Katsina. But 89 at once? LASG need to ask questions.[/I love these questions. Why don't we just stop this deception]

Bros, about 3 years ago some Chinese leased a big warehouse in my premises. Apparently they had an existing one in kano. Next thing was that they shipped over 50 abokis from upnorth, they stayed with the Chinese inside the warehouse without moving around. I had to ask why all of a sudden so many northerners, why not get the labour locally. The answer was that those fellows, the ones that were welders, carpenters, tilers, bricklayers, plumbers etc were all well skilled with proper work ethics. The labourers too, all ready to work without the usual shenanigans by locals.
They all stayed there, they had their own caterers making their food etc, they had those that the company vehicle will take to get groceries, supplies etc.
After a few months when the renovations and equipments had been installed, the factory started, locals were employed and most of those northerners were shipped back north, just few skilled ones remained to train the locals on how to operate the machines then they left for the north.
My point is that just as there was a point in time people preferred using togolese tilers, plumbers etc for their skills, work ethics that is how workers are being brought from up north. As our people say, they have not "spoilt".
It is even cheaper for the contractor, bring them down, house them in the premises, feed them, they work without touching their pay, no distractions from having to go home to wives every night etc. After completion of their contract they go back up north with plenty money. You try to employ people locally here in Lagos and see the wahala and headache you go through, an example is stealing, a local worker is already too smart, he knows how to steal and where to sell, the imported northerner is a stranger and wount even think of that, as a stranger he will not even know where to sell stolen stuff.

How did we get here - where Nigerians now stereotype their fellow citizens? We've allowed fear, misinformation, and division to shape our perceptions of one another, forgetting that our strength has always been in our unity and diversity
That Nigeria you speak of is long long dead. Killed and buried by the greedy political class from all sections of the country who are united in the collective stealing and planting seeds of division amongst the people so they are never united to see the evil being done to them.

Nigerians should wake up and smell the coffee.
These are not aboriginal northern Nigerians.
They seem like foreigners from neighboring sub-saharan African countries brought in to Lagos for reasons best known to them.

People still think this is all about politics until we are all surrounded.

No difference, so they all have to give it to Lagos. It's truly the centre of Excellence.

All you wrote there is thrash and you know it.
There is an on-going plan to spread foreigners like these all over Nigeria in the name of "jobs" and FG programmes.

You guys are evil and your plans will fail at last.

Lagos should ban all those indiscriminate scrap dealers, and bola boys, most of them are thieves, they steal manholes, power cables and engage in robberies...they are so dirty moving around Lagos in their millions carrying bags around, this is not how a mega city is...take them back to where they come from the North.

Keep asking irrelevant questions as if northerners are not human beings. Go and start your own refinery and employ only your family members if you like. Because the company is cited in Lagos, others from north shouldn't benefit aside Lagosians, right? Many Lagosians and south west are already recruited as qualified professionals.

Dangote usually recruit from different universities and tribes. These people are recruited as mere labourers which is cheaper compare to hiring Biafrans that will be boasting they are all billionaires and can't do that work. It is the turn of Katsina ( not even Kano his own state) to also benefit.

If the Fulani marauders kidnapped one of your relatives (God forbid), as they are busy doing across the nation, I am sure you will change your tune.

The insecurity in the country is too widespread and scary. Tribal profiling is therefore the inevitable result just for safety sake.

It depends. I think they'll provide shelter for them and they use to be satisfied with low income.
But I can say what will happen to them after the contract ends.
