It isn't.

He was doing better in Nigeria.
We both know that is not true. 100k CAD anywhere is something.
It is not always about the money, sometimes. There are people earning over 5m monthly and still left the country.

They left because they felt the grass was greener.

Trust me, if he was not budgeting on 1.5 million Naira, he is clearly watching every purchase on 100k CAD.

For the love of me, I don't see why relocating from your home land to a foreign land a success.

We are screwed up mentally as people, thanks to useless African leaders.

Imagine people making relocation to foreign land a prayer point, an ambition or dream... That's now fxxkedup we are as people.
It's not from our leaders. Even if you make Nigeria a heaven today, people will still Japa. We have serious inferiority complex. Like the saying goes, Nigerians only see Nigeria as a burial ground. We don't mind cleaning toilet as long as we are around the white man. Let Europe and Africa switch continents. Leave the infrastructure behind. Blacks will follow them to Africa even if they have to sleep on the streets.

Well his salary in Nigeria was 1.6M monthly and now he's earning 9.5M+ in a more stable economy, so it's a win. He would not have earned that in Nigeria and the economy is dead weight on that previous 1.6M

This is just the perfect nice happy ending story.

If Everybody could be of this reasoning.

A 🦎 lizard in Nigeria can not turn to A Crocodile Abroad.

This was a high earner in Nigeria.
He was Only Destined to Earn Higher Abroad..

Not you earning 100k in Nigeria believing and Depending on fate you will make a $100,000 a job per year..

Some People that Japa To this same Abroad barely Make $12,000 a Year at $1,000 and trust me the Billz would mount.

Utility Bills. Light Gas Heat Phone bills monthly House Rents and All..

If Everybody that Japa had this type of Happy Ending stories I will advocate for the whole Nigeria to be Emptied.

Highly Skilled in High Demand Tech Job bro armed himself with..

You that can barely complete an online course sef want to Join..

It was a chance he took and the chances were really high it would work for him.. Another person might take such chance and might not work out well.

Let's Know what works for us.

It is from our leaders and a failed system. Back in the days the reasons people travelled out was genuinely for education and pleasure unlike now. We had expatriates everywhere who were hustling here because the Naira had power and our economy was stable plus the land was still green with opportunities waiting to be harnessed. This isn't about black or white man, it's about corrupt leaders, bad selfish policies and a generally failed system.

I left immediately after Nigerians reelected Buhari in 2019 because I figured Nigerians are not ready to see Nigeria work. How can Buhari be reelected after a disastrous 4yrs?

I also came as a student, did a postgraduate in project management and now a Canadian, a Biafran, a Deltan and a Nigerian in that order grin
I’m sorry but how can a “deltan” be a “biafran” ?

I said I'm a Deltan and a Biafran. I did not say you are!

Mind you Delta was created in 1991 while Biafra existed before Nigeria!

I still prefer here where you are sure of no tribalism . I was sent packing from my job because of two thing in Nigeria in the same 2020 .
First , the governor of that State at the time , his wife told my immediate boss to relieve me off my job because I have worked with a former governor that they were both at loggerheads
Secondly , my immediate boss who would have helped me again to get a job in that state through the SSG at the time told me the governor has authorized all non indigene of that state no be allowed to work ( not knowing it was her my immediate boss who orchestrated that move so she can accommodate her church members after I left the job, who are not even from Edo state.
Since then I have been out of job . Until a God sent woman ( my wife ) came through for me .
Lol, racism is much worse than tribalism. At least there is no "superior" majority race and no one covers their nose when you pass or stand up on the train when you sit near them or sit cramped together while there are empty sits around you, sotay you no dey sit down anymore to avoid all that. Things like that

This is no risk because you lose nothing if he says no. Risk is if it fails you lose something, sometimes your very life - like failed coup plotters

If you are relocating abroad for a new experience, to work with different cultures and gain dual citizenship, then that makes sense...!

But, if you are leaving a good job with great living standards here to go abroad believing you will earn far more there, then you are just too dull and unserious about your life.

...And if you are faring well abroad yet don't have a return plan or aren't pushing funds back to Nigeria to set up, I really have no words for you.

In all, let's quit this Japa and Anti-Japa comparisons or threads...!

They are becoming more and more idiotic everyday.
And why must you do the bolded. Why can't you just japa for good. Just asking

live and die in Nigeria. Stop! You got to see the world and it’s just one life. It worth doing. No regrets from me
"relocation" and "Travel" is entirely different word, read and understand. Comprehension is a crucial part of reading, else you'll misconstrue people's words.

Achieve your goals and keep quiet.

This way you make the host country think everyone wants to migrate. Next thing they block that means
Lol, too late. They already KNOW 100% that all Nigerians see their countries as heaven

Good point...!

But, relocation didn't start today, in fact, it has been happening long before you were born.

It's just human nature to move around the world, settle in other places and experience life beyond your comfort zone.

Today's situation is sadly borne out of the messed up system of leadership where the nation seems to be dying daily... So, relocating is now a survival move.
I understand, Nigeria reasons of relocation is entirely different thing... INFERIORITY COMPLEX, I understand migration is part of living beings.
