It makes no sense at all, almost amounting to the legendary sleaze and corruption the civil service is reputed for (disrepute actually). Let's break it down. A monthly expenditure of 20 million naira on electricity amounts to about 650k daily. If they're supplied with only 3 hours of power every day, then that's 220k per hour. Haba! ![]() Furthermore, 80k litres of diesel in a month is about a hundred million naira every month for 24 hours power? It just doesn't add up to me. |

Power Companies in Nigeria are LEECHES! They bill companies and businesses like they were established with the SOLE purpose of making money for NEPA. They come with UNREASONABLE and criminally ESTIMATED bills every month and make threats. That's why I have ZERO pity for the NEPA guys that were assaulted by Military guys. The government can END this MADNESS by mandating the Power Discos to provide Prepaid Meters for Businesses and Institutions like Universities and Hospitals. Billing a hospital #240 MILLION NAIRA per year is EVIL. This is Nigeria. That is a LOT of money. Unless the Hospital is making more than one BILLION every year, it's UNSUSTAINABLE. Especially, since they still need to buy DIESEL. It's no wonder hospitals don't have equipment. NEPA is ROBBING them. |

Any organization paying 20 million naira monthly for estimated billing is not serious. Get a prepaid meter installed. Wasting millions for darkness supplied because the money is not theirs but the government. The person in charge of that institution is obviously inept. |

Before viewing this thread, I knew it would be somewhere on the island. Most parts of Lagos island can't boast of 5hrs of light in a day I think the name should be changed to Darkland |
