Destiny is a pre-ordained sequence of events by God. It however contains choices that the destined needs to make. They include the choice of life or death,
salvation or otherwise.

Destiny involves the height one can attain in life. And perhaps the process involved.


For Xtians its not more of destiny but prophecy, as d Lord reveals what he is doing, about to do or will do at several points in our lives.

What is DESTINY? what do you understand by it?.
some people say "your destiny is in your hand" which means that you can decide what you want to be by yourself.
other people say "what will be, will surely be" which means whatever happens have already been programmed to happen in which case you dont have power over such.

what do you understand as destiny. can it be influenced if it exists or we should not worry about anything and just resign to fate since it will happen no matter how much we try.

From my understanding, Destiny is the divine appointment of God for man and it can also be defined as fulfilment.

But the fact that destiny is the plan of God for man does not mean it will come to pass just like that, cos DESTINY is FLEXIBLE, you can choose to change it. The FLEXIBILITY aspect of it may be that you didn't discover yourself early enough, evil manipulation in ones life or 

For instance, if a person is destined to be a fashion designer, but he planned his life to be a lawyer, he may/may not make it as a lawyer and will never be fulfilled for the wrong choice until he discovers himself (the purpose of God for him).

A man destined to be a banker but finds himself as a conductor will never be fulfilled as a result of the above mentioned reasons. I know a woman who was well paid as a banker but resigned cos she was not fulfilled, she went back to school to study mass comm and today she is fulfilled as a Journalist even though the pay she receives is peanut compared to her first career and many other examples out there.

So, you can't afford to fold your hands and make it happen NO!! You have to discover yourself, ask yourself what you like doing that keeps you going even when awake in the middle of the night? What can you do and be happy even when you receive no pay for it (your source of income may come from some other things)? Hope you are not doing it cos your friend is making money from it? Have you sought God's consent about it?

Destiny is the purpose or future as arranged by fate or God.
To my own view it's been arranged as your 'scale of preference', it depends on what you chose, how you chose and when you chose it.

But what about those that God gave specific prophecies of what He wanted them to come and do before they were born? What can we say about that?
Examples include Samson, John the Baptist, Jesus and othes?

Luke traced the lineage of Jesus from Adam.
Still same lies. Jesus is different and only Jesus has a destiny of death that is unchangeable!

God planned Jesus's like and he couldn't save him from death in his plan!

But God can do all things! Everyone's destiny is changeable!

Your last paragraph contradict the first one. Someone destined to do something mean the person has no choice than to obey.

Someone destined to be hired killer shouldn't be judged as he was destined to be so

I definitely said that destiny is all about destination and arrival whether good or bad or evil.

Thus, it is only if you have done a thing which you cannot reverse eg a person falling from a 12 storey building, or a person who has drunk a full coke bottle of hypo that is the only period that a person can be said to have no choice.

But before the jumping from the 12 storey and the drinking of the hypo, he had a choice and could choose several other destinies.

Thus someone destined to be a hired killer chose himself to be one.

My own understanding about life is , there are some factors who determines (not pre )whatever one wants to become in life. All will be based on your efforts..

You can plan something sometimes with so much confident about the success of it, well that's your own thinking, things might not go in the way you initially thought

There is a story about a cockroach buzzing around in a restaurant, it fell on 2 customers which caused some drama, but when it fell on the waiter, the waiter was calm, monitor the cockroach and picked it then threw it away.
