Which prison will accommodate over 120 million Nigerians? if you jail just 30% of the workforce, how will you run the economy? always bringing up laws that are unrealistic.

In a democracy you can't force anyone to do anything. Those senators are a waste of space...most people don't vote because the political system is criminal, votes don't count...we don't want to participate in criminality, we all saw what happens during elections...all of a sudden counting/sorting venue is changed, thugs disrupting the process...these political class should stop playing with our intelligence, stop pushing the people to the wall, you can't force us to participate in your criminality, I wonder how foolish they take Nigerians for.

Those senators, idle and fighting over egos and politricking should focus on pressing issues like ending kidnapping and terrorism and stop being useless.
You will vote jare, by fire or by force..

Talk talk, you will pass your vote.. cheesy

A useless bill that is not enforceable this APC government is just playing on the psychology of Nigerians making us believe under democracy they can force tyranny and evil forms on control on us to induce fear like north Korea can they jail more than half of the population of Nigerians that don't usually vote this government is totally brainless

Agbakoba on point on this. You can't force me to vote sorry dead on arrival. Voting is my legimate right and I have full right to choose neutrality or not so you can not force voting on me sorry Mr Jobless National Assembly.

Despite my stand on this topic, it is either Tinubu in 2027 or nothing.

The higher the turnout the easier to rig.

Unless we are not practicing democracy but communism, there's no way you will have to force people to vote against their wish, impossible. Voting is voluntary in democracy.

Our National assembly should rather make laws that will make voting attractive to citizens instead of forcing them.

Nothing will ever make me vote in Nigeria election.

Never.

Wow!!!

This country is just a weird place. Like, what kind of rubbish law is this? Should have been thrown out the first second it was presented to the house. How can you force ANYONE to vote? Huh? Does it even make any sense?

Why not review the reasons some people choose not to vote?

Do the votes of people really matter? Since 1999, the general belief is that there has been background engineering to alter votes to suit a particular narrative.

How about violence? In a polling unit close to my house in one of these elections, someone's face was almost completely blown out with a pump action gun. Can the security agencies guarantee maximum security? Again, general belief is that they have been compromised.

How about those that choose not to vote for religious reasons? Don't people have the right to practice their religion as they please...as far as it does not cause harm to others?

How about the obvious corruption ravaging INEC? Has this been sorted out?

Vote buying, has this been sorted out? Weren't the APC, PDP, LP, and all other political parties involved in vote buying in this past election? Didn't we see videos online?

How about inflating voting figures?

How about the continuous failure of presidents, governors, LGA chairmen, etc, to deliver on their promises once they assume office?

You see, the reasons for choosing not to vote are endless.

The legislators do not have the power to force anyone to vote. The fact that that they are even considering this shows that they know absolutely nothing about their jobs. How shameful!
Very shameful indeed my brother.

Voting in Nigeria is a waste of time, and encouraging the criminality in the electoral process.

The president should not be the one appointing INEC commissioners, it makes no sense.

Yes I agreed with you sir, I will rather follow suit than forced to vote when I know that my voting will not count nor make sense. Let those that steal the ballot continue to do so and continue to declare themselves winners. I have lost hope on Nigeria electoral system.

Exactly that's what I'm talking about, all this imprisonment is a mere distraction, I swear this agnakogba sef nah part of the game plan....they knw we are prepared and we've know our mistakes they get there because we did not vote
Stop using "we" for yourself.

Human beings are fickle and will do whatever they want to do. Some of those shouting against Tinubu will still vote APC when left alone with ballot paper

Check,
any voting day be like relaxation day.
Many don't care.
Several governments of the past and current are jesters
Nothing serious.

Since the foolish lawmakers have nothing meaningful to do they resort to immateriality. Why not pass anti corruption bill and make the death penalty a punishment for corruption? Nay. Crooks that are more interested in the coming elections.

I think Nigeria and Nigerians are a cause to themselves, until when the citizens wake up and confront these stupid politicians and leaders of theirs, these Nation Assembly members will not make compulsory laws on good governance rights and things that will benefit and Better the lives of common citizens,it's a law that will make voting compulsory that's their main problem.
What a country and system, the people are poor hungry and impoverished.its this stupid law that is of more importance to the National Assembly.
What a crazy system

It's an absurd law. Of what benefit would it be to the state to incarcerated otherwise productive members of society simply for not exercising their rights? That is just senseless.

I would rather thumb at the back of the ballot rather than vote for any further elections in the country.

Useless people. They will not address election integrity. It is people that did not vote that is their problem.

I said it before, if care is not taking it is just 10people that will determine the president of Nigeria unless election integrity is addressed.

How many prisons can they build

Very useless anyhow law
The law will be used selectively. If you are vocal against the government, and they are aware you didn’t vote, then you can be imprisoned for it.

So, if M C Plump and his gangs that have government backing threaten to kill people that will not vote them, you still expect us to go there to vote so that we will be killed.

You politicians are selfish and ev!l.
God will not allow our blood spill for ev!l politicians.
