If it actually happened as reported here, the father of the boy must bear full responsibility for his wanton recklessness |

Baldg:Why do people twist issues so wilfully? Rather than complying with lawful directives, the driver allegedly accelerated towards the enforcement team in an attempt to evade arrest, ramming into two OYTMA vehicles and a Police Buffalo Patrol truck. You read all this and still made it about driving against traffic?? I'm not even saying the police were right to use live fire. But such unintelligent approaches to discussion set these discussions up for failure. |

Baldg:That man did not only drive against traffic, he was reckless and posed serious threat to the lives of other road users. After watching the video, I can't but agree with the police that his reaction raised serious suspicion as if he is a criminal and is avoiding arrest. I don't like Nigeria Police, but the man gave this away. RIp to the innocent child |

we must understand the risk involved in being a policeman in Nigeria, i am sure the police in the USA would have reacted almost in an identical way. if the details are correct, the police don't know who is in the car; it might be kidnappers or armed robbers. all the man should have done was to park; that would have saved all this calamity. we have read and heard stories of how robbers shoot and kill police men at checkpoints. Never argue with anyone who holds a gun, comply, and stay safe The man will be blaming himself now , jailing the police officers won't bring his son back, just an extra 10 minutes could have kept his boy alive . i will never argue with anyone holding a cane, how much more someone carrying a live gun Baldg: |

People should search for the quoted vehicle registration number if it actually belong to the acclaimed owner as the father of the victim |

This official police statement is actually self indicting in my view. First the driver broke traffic rules and tried to escape so no need for use of firearms. Even if a case of high level criminality such as abduction (as stated in the statement) was suspected and required the use of firearms to demobilize the vehicle, a mask man or a more experienced officer in the team should av taken the shot targeted at the car wheel (tire). The incident reflected lack of professionalism on the part of the police, so the entire team should pay the price for murder. The Officer in charge of that unit should also be sanctioned while I recommend continuous training for serving police men. |

May the soul of the innocent boy rest in peace 🙏 The Nigerian Police and his irresponsible father were responsible for his death. Even though the Nigerian Police is very useless, it’s obvious his reckless father equally fueled the issue that resulted to his demise. In every societies around the world, it’s only a criminally minded driver that will disobey the stop order from the police. Am sure by now the father would have realized that only 10mins stop would have averted the irreversible tragedy. |
