In the #10 role I'll play Zidane but I feel Iniesta offers more control. Yaya stopped playing as a DM when he left Barca in 2009/2010. Paired with Barry, Dejong, Fernandinho and sometimes played as a 10 since he moved to city.

Good analysis but then, Zidane and Iniesta are no where near KDB in terms of productivity.

He is the king in that list in terms of attacking output, nobody comes close.

You’re right.

Modric is best as a B2B and Pirlo is best as a Deep-lying playmaker.

I agree Modric is a better fit than Pirlo here because Rijkaard has decent deep playmaking

Great defensive midfielder for what it is primarily all about, but there was nothing stylish and unique about Makelele.

You're right It would give you more edge cause while the other oppositions DM is mostly breaking up attacks and just giving you a safe pass, yours is multi tasking and being involved in control, this is one of the reasons why rodri is a big miss for man city whenever he's out, he acts as a CB, DM and is still involved in the final third several times, I'm not trying to disrespect makalele but the advantages of a modern DM outweigh those of the past
