Mabuggi88:if translated into per capita immigrant figure, Nigeria and Zimbabwe benefited more. India has 1.4B population but Nigeria and Pakistan combined is around 500m. |

Nehyooh:The majority of ethnic Chinese who moved are disgruntled Hong Kongers, not Mainland Chinese. The latter tend to move as students and return to China. China has more to offer the average/smart Chinese than the UK would ever. |

LoneSoldier:oh please! That is not true and can never be true. The pounds earned in London are spent in London, not Lagos. Two, there is an economic concept known as PPP - Purchasing Power Parity. So, the Nigerian in Lagos has more money to spend than the Nigerian in London. |

OriOko88:Add Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka to that list. All of which are not good to write home about. Although, Maldives and Mauritius are pretty okay. Then compare to where the Chinese are spread - China, Hong Kong, Singapore, parts of Malaysia & Thailand, and Macau. If we are to expand, the largest number of foreigners in South Korea and Japan is Chinese. |

After, people will say China is getting better than most western countries. What is pursuing them from their homeland? |

Omooba77:This article is grossly misleading. There is no way the UK absorbed 120,000 long-term migrants from Nigeria in one year. |

Not all visa applicants are migrants, so Vanguard Newspaper will do well to correct its erroneous report. Image source: https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/populationandmigration/internationalmigration/bulletins/longterminternationalmigrationprovisional/yearendingdecember2024

India's number is far too low in relation to its population. One would expect the figure to be higher given that it is the world's most populous nation. Their population is currently over 1.4 billion. |

Mabuggi88:are you ok, Indian with 1.4 billion with just 200k plus and Nigeria with partly 200 million with a huge 120k plus. It should be “ Nigeria no de tire” not Indians. Indians in this case is learning when compared with Nigeria |

autoez:So true, now imagine on the flip side. 120,000 Nigerians sending lets say just £200 back home every month, that's £24m monthly into the Nigerian economy - ~N48 Billion/year. That's nearly half of what is budgeted for Health 2024 Now imagine how much Nigeria will earn from citizens ordering Goat meat, Palm oil, Poundo yam etc |

Gerrard59:Based on current trends Like I have told you last year This is NO LONGER the case More and more mainland Chinese kids are staying back in the UK your last statement is incorrect but that's on the side..... Having conversations with the students at my uni for example The life here is so "sweet" for them to return to China The only thing is that if this racism rhetoric continues thei may leave to Australia |
