RodgersAkpafu:So far the data showed that they are the fewest of non-EU students who stay back. They form the largest contingent of non-EU students in the UK, but take up slightly more (1%) graduate jobs than NIgerians (third ranked in student contingent). When compared in raw figures, our people took up more jobs than they did. https: //www. gov. uk/ government/statistics/analysis-of-migrants-use-of-the-graduate-route/analysis-of-migrants-use-of-the-graduate-route |

Gerrard59:The graduate route is NOT the only route to settlement. Check out the figures for tier 2 and even tier 1 they recently abolished With the currency controls going on in China The rich men are settling their kids abroad I went to east London that was last month You can feel their presence there Now obviously people will go back, especially the ones who came via Chinese scholarships because that was the conditions to accepting them in the first place But again, I know what I am saying Especially for rich Chinese men The Jack Ma situation made them rethink a lot of things Freedom is priceless like I will always say. Maybe I should prod more and ask my Chinese pals more about the situation 🤔 |

I will rephrase, how many Pakistani doctors/nurses are in NHS - NmC/GMC. How many Nigerians? Are Nigerians in UK richer than Pakistanis? If u go land registry now, u sure say Nigerians own even 1/3 of houses owned by Pakistanis? Should we talk abt prisons? Or about Police officers or UK military? RodgersAkpafu:I do agree with the capital controls and Jack Ma situation. Australia is even worse than the UK as it has more anti-Chinese laws/rhetoric second to the US. Yes, please ask them about their reasons to remain vis-a-vis the current anti-China rhetoric throughout the West. How do they intend to enjoy life knowing their ethnicity prevents them to study at certain departments at elite universities? Over here, based on anecdotal conversations and actual newspapers publications, many Chinese especially those who are solidly middle and upper middle class are moving to Malaysia, Singapore and Japan due to cultural similarities and proximity. My view is that a growing number are moving away or stashing funds overseas, but increasingly in culturally similar countries rather than nations who don't want China and the Chinese to succeed. |

Gerrard59:You know the funny thing bout the bolded? A lot of chinese people here actually (well the small sample size i have spoken to) actually blame the Chinese Govt and the CCP for the imposition of ATAS on Chinese students by the UK government . It's very funny That's how the UK have framed it and people actually believe it 🙄 |

RodgersAkpafu:Then, they're are very igno.rant and easily brainwashed. Everyone knows it's because the Brits/West are apprehensive about China's progress. The same rhetoric has happened in the Netherlands, Switzerland and America. |
| Re: Japa: Nigeria Ranks 2nd Among Foreigners Who Migrated To The UK In 2024 (Top 5) by RodgersAkpafu: 1:54am On May 27, 2025 |
Gerrard59:When CCP keeps planting spies left and right to steal IP You cannot blame the West for being apprehensive Many Chinese people just wan live their lives and do well. The whole CCP thing of spy planting and all has stained all of them Ditto for Iran China won't share its own IP if they were in the West shoes So why should the West do same ? You sef reason am It's very easy to say that the brits don't want China progress But if the west really want to damage China All it takes is three coordinated trade policies And China is done for So that line is a tired line, and it's cope |
| Re: Japa: Nigeria Ranks 2nd Among Foreigners Who Migrated To The UK In 2024 (Top 5) by Gerrard59(m): 7:28am On May 28, 2025 |
RodgersAkpafu:First, everyone "stole" IP. The Americans stole it from the Europeans who in turn stole them from the Brits. At some point, Europeans stole IP from today's Arabs. Koreans stole from the Japanese. BTW, some fields have been totally re-engineered by the Chinese - wind power, solar manufacturing, electric batteries/electric vehicles etc. Just because the Chinese isn't bending to the whims of the West or is so adept at producing superior goods cheaply does not mean China is bad at IP. Additionally, a significant proportion of IP invented/innovated in Western labs are performed by ethnic Chinese, so the belief that the source of these people, Mainland China, cannot have a similar quality cohort smacks of racism. No difference between the Chinese from Taiwan and the one from Mainland China. It is a cultural feature. Two, the West especially the Brits and later on the Americans caused the problem in Iran by toppling a recognised government. So, why expect Iranians to love the West? How did the toppling go for Libya? China won't share its own IP if they were in the West shoesChina does if asked, politely. On the other hand, partly true since the West has showed animosity towards China's peaceful rise. But sharing with Brazil? Indonesia? It does it. So why should the West do same ?Shey na the West wan access the Chinese market? If not for China, many Western companies during the 2000s and 2010s would not generated immense profits and inflation rates would have been remarkably high. So the claim that China did this or that or the West got so damaged is entirely false. It was a symbiotic relationship. It's very easy to say that the brits don't want China progressWhat are these three coordinated trade policies that we have not seen recently? China is the world's factory. There exists a world outside the declining population of the West. China has a huge market to entice other countries for imports. I have been hearing this "China's Collapse" for years. Gordon Chang built a career on this. How far? When is it going to come? Remove the US, Germany, France and to an extent the Netherlands, many Western countries are just there. Can they build factories in record time like the Chinese? Can they work for longer hours than the Vietnamese? The minerals they have, can they mine them to compete with Chinese owned mines? Do they even have the cheaper and faster mining techniques as done by the "ever IP thieving" Chinese companies? |

@Gerrard59 Declaration of China as currency manipulator and withdrawing MFN status from China will be the end of China Even the Chinese know it. The West is yet to do that because of two reasons 1. The corporations lobbying against it because Iof the massive profits they are making off the back of China, and 2. The Role China has played in neutering inflation in the West, esp the United States 🇺🇸 China does not have the internal demand or economic sophistication to survive the ramifications of not being afforded MFN status Sinophiles can hype all they want, but that is the truth. Even Xi is not as popular as he used to be, and there are many dissatisfied Chinese people as we speak, turning up the heat with the view of ousting him is also on the table. They just don't have his time yet. Cuba and North Korea are two examples of what happens when that MFN status is taken from you All of una wey dey hype China lol ![]() Once there is a REAL fallout That's when you guys will know how far lol These guys still got China on a leash and would "bite" when they really become a problem Small shake body and the Americans have already ousted the Chinese from DRC If not that america is now led by a dummy, they would have built on that momentum and ousted the Chinese from Zambia and South Africa as well.... But Trump and his side chic Musk are pursuing rats ![]() Based on my career experience and my field of study and research, my money is always on the west 100% (no sentiment) when it comes to bulldozing what they mark as existential threats once they cross that threshold China never cross am yet, that's why they are still playing these games Once they really "overstep" Then the sequence of actions you see afterwards will surprise you.... |

RodgersAkpafu:Declaring China as a currency manipulator does not change anything as it is not new. The removal of the MFN status has technically occurred with the tariffs wars. So, nothing new. China does not have the internal demand or economic sophistication to survive the ramifications of not being afforded MFN statusThe dream of every Westernphilic. Well, the Chinese have learnt lessons from the fall of USSR and don't want a repeat of the Century of Humiliation. This is something every Chinese I have spoken to here insists on. While they are not okay discussing CCP's policies or politics, they don't want a repeat of the CoH. Cuba and North Korea are two examples of what happens when that MFN status is taken from youThese ones are not major trading nations nor are they manufacturing powerhouses nor do they have their kith scattered across the world owning factories and businesses. I have seen on IG how Chinese manufacturers circumvent the tariffs by setting up bases in Lagos and exporting to the US. The same occurs in Liberia and Benin Republic. What then are you going to do, order all countries to cut off Chinese investments? What do they get in return? Is the West investing and sharing technologies as the Chinese are? Should other countries not aspire to be economically stable simply because they have to do whatever the West tells them to? So what about ethnic Chinese in Malaysia and Vietnam? How do you fight off such people collaborating with their cousins in Mainland China to circumvent any trade tariffs? That is the difference between Cuba/North Korea and China. Small shake body and the Americans have already ousted the Chinese from DRCI have read the reports of the deal, and while it is direct from Kinshasa, the actual areas are dominated by the Chinese. The locals attested to it. The West cannot invest in the same magnitude as China, nor do they have technologies. One of the miners developed a technique which reduced costs greatly such that its copper output made the price to plummet, which affected competitors in Chile and Australia. The West does not have that technology neither can they play the long and dirty game in the DRC as the Chinese. Nevertheless, we will see the end of such deals, whether they benefit actual Congolese or suit geopolitical containment of China. For sure, the West does not mind if actual everyday residents suffer economic malaise as long as China is contained. The same in South America, where port infrastructure is so outdated. China gets it to modernise them, but the US complains. Do you imply that ordinary South Americans don't deserve modern port infrastructures to boost their economies simply because the moderniser is China? The same rhetoric was labelled by the West and including Donald Trump, towards the Japanese until the Plaza Accords happened which resulted in the Lost Decades. The difference is: China has a huge internal market, huge diaspora, is the world's factory as attested by many Western executives, the world's largest makers of industrial robots, hihgher number of engineering graduates, strong work ethic and discipline etc. Here is an article from the FT: The Lessons From China's Manufacturing Dominance: https: //archive. md/oHBg2 Maybe the West and its fans should learn a thing or two rather than the constant bickering. Two interesting comments from the article: You miss the broader point here, i.e. it’s not about who’s the best, it’s not about competition. It’s about human progress, which works best in cooperation. Being the best, comparing itself to others,… is a unique obsession of the west. It’s become so absurd that western commentators often use double standards because in a like for like comparison they’re frequently not the best. The west set up colonies to spread its religion 100 years ago, never wondering if other people were actually interested in its religion. Today the west is waging war all over the planet under the excuse that it is defending its system of government (democracy) as if that is some sort of holy battle. Underpinning this belief that it’s up to us how the rest of the world must think, govern itself and what they must believe in, is a strange sort of narcissism that makes us assume it’s axiomatic that we always know best. China was never like that. China throughout its history always sought harmonious relations with the rest of the world, mainly through trade and exchange. It never had the desire to conquer and impose its systems and beliefs onto others. The result is that China never colonised half the planet as the western powers did. Not do they have 900 military basis all around the world as western powers do today. Michel Houellebecq: "The reason we, in the West, suddenly dislike international economic competition, is because we suddenly realised we were losing." |

!Gerrard59 Declaring China a currency manipulator destroys China Don't kid yourself That automatically reprices all their exports and it will put them at a massive disadvantage MFN status removal/ejections will be the final blow America has a good case to take to the WTO to that effect But they have a foolish man as president And corporations putting Washington on a leash China can bravado all they want But this one is the truth Saying what u said in your first paragraph means 1. You don't know much about trade policy AND 2. You don't understand the implications of those draconian policies Just saying lol The dream of "westernphiles" Nope That's the REALITY on the ground China does not have that internal economic sophistication to survive the onslaught Xi knows America knows too For China to survive the double whammy of MFN oyster plus currency manipulation, it needs to be in good terms with its neighbours (which it's not, due to its own folly and of course crooked and criminal western diplomacy. Western Diplomacy is so crooked that even India is the weapon fashioned against China in BRICS, hope you know lol) and reform its economy into a domestic demand driven economy FAST FAST and of course make many friends in resource exporting countries Western countries have messed up in this regard with their arrogance so China can quickly move in... It's a very complex game and table |

operating satellite production to circumvent tariffs would not make much impact though And btw, Rules of Origin is enshrined in the WTO... The American commerce department can use that as a basis to sanction companies and entities They have the extensive spy networks and the resources to identify and subsequently hammer them This is the crooked underhand strategy America has been using to fristrate Iran and its connected entities abroad. Again, what is saving China right now is incompetent leadership from Washington They should revel in what they have been able to achieve and that's that Once they become a very serious problem, they will be treated like a serious problem No sentiments here Let's just watch on the sidelined as spectators WHEN the fireworks begin to crack Let's see how all those things you mentioned will save the Chinese government Huge diaspora etc lmaoo |
