Nigerian Who Lured Business Men Into Fake Seeds Export Trap Arrested In India by Peterobiisathie(op): 8:54am On May 24, 2025
The city Cybercrime police arrested a Nigerian national, Okafor Kingsley Nweke, from New Delhi for allegedly orchestrating an elaborate online fraud involving fake agricultural seed orders and duping a local businessman of Rs 31.48 lakh.
The victim, Rahul Jogi (41), a saree manufacturer , had filed a complaint on March 29, naming multiple WhatsApp users and bank account holders. Several teams were formed to trace the accused.
According to preliminary police investigation, Nweke has been living in India since 2014–15 and used advanced electronic gadgets, multiple email IDs, and WhatsApp numbers to carry out the fraud. He often posed as different individuals to deceive victims.
Jogi received a message on his Facebook messenger on Oct 25, 2024, from an person claiming to work for a private firm and expressing interest in purchasing agricultural seeds from India. Tempted by the promise of export business, Jogi was lured into a trap.
The scammer provided company details and contact numbers, leading Jogi to negotiate with a so-called seed supplier, who quoted Rs 62,936 per 100 grams. Jogi initially placed a small order and made payment on Nov 14, followed by a second payment for 200 grams the next day. After receiving 300 grams of seed, the scammers introduced a new contact—Mr. Smith—who persuaded Jogi to place a much larger order of 2,500 grams followed by another order of 29 packets.
Over time, an unsuspecting Jogi transferred a total of Rs 31.49 lakh to the fake company's bank account. When he was asked to place another order for 71 more packets, he got suspicious, prompting him to file a cyber fraud complaint.
Inspector JM Kaila of Cybercrime police station said the accused used sophisticated methods and often posed as multiple fake identities. He exploited technological tools to carry out the fraud and used multiple bank accounts, the sources of which are under investigation.

Crime is truly horrible and sad
Crime is utterly devastating.
Stealing from people leaves them financially ruined and vulnerable.
It's despicable.

The audacity for me...

Scamming a foreigner in a foreign land, common sense would have told him to run away.

Of what purpose is Ohaneze setup for?

Is it just to gasslight the FG over phantom marginalization and to launch renewed annexation of the adjourning SS?

If so, then they should stop parading themselves as a Socio-Cultural association as they have failed woefully as elders to imbibe proper upbringing and values within their populace and have never deemed it fit to offer critical advice to their teeming criminal population who are giving the IBO nationality they claim to represent a very bad image.

Is it that these Guys in India, Malaysia, South Africa, Turkey, Thailand and many others don't do anything besides one crime or the other?

Unfortunately, this is exactly what an average Nigerian sees as being SMART.
How to outsmart others

When will Afenifere, the Yoruba socio-cultural organization, issue a statement regarding the deeply troubling phenomenon of convicted individuals, credit card thieves, wire fraudsters, narcotics traffickers, certificate forgers, and identity thieves, returning to occupy positions of leadership in Yoruba land, such as governors, senators, rep members and even traditional rulers such as the Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi, and the Apetu of Ipetumodu, Oba Joseph Oloyede?
