Respectfully Sir, Bishop Kukah - if Emilokan is not relevant, why did Pope Leo- invited him to his Domain in Rome and Vatican.
Remember, Emilokan said ' I'm Not A Religious Biggot ' and is this Not Playing 🎴 out in his Appointments in Nigeria now?
-If Nigeria is not that Important or Relevant, why given him Red Carpet?
For the Pope must have seen something that we Nigerians Cannot See 🙈!

Even the Catholic church selection of pope is shrouded in mystery as no one watches or see the cardinals vote counted. So it not completely a foolproof transparent process
Do you mean someone would rig an election that involved intellectuals from all over the races of the world, different tribes and languages, and they all will keep quiet, and nobody protested of going to court? Bro, the record of the election results are available.

What's the relationship between winning the world cup and electing a Pope
The relationship is, No African country has ever won a world cup and No African has ever been elected a pope. The Cardinal is advising that we should focus more energy on lifting the world cup (which is based on our efforts) than making the conclave an Emilokan affairs. Focus on what you have control over than things you don't have control over. You get the point now?

That's your interpretation. I can also see it as him telling us to mind our business
No one has control over winning the world cup. I believe an African pope has once emerged in history.
And Kukah is a Bishop not a cardinal
The point is he sounded arrogant comparing winning the world cup which no one has control over to electing a pope which is based on decision of a few which makes it subject to control

oga, world cup is based on your efforts, go and win that one first. Leave what happens at the conclave.

World Cup and conclave are not related
You mean the best prepared teams always win the world cup?
The conclave is a gathering of few who make subjective decisions so both are not related in any way

Then your country should prepare well and win the world cup then. Leave the conclave for the few cardinals to make their subjective decisions or better still, become a cardinal if you think it's easy.

You're still falling at the simple, basic question
How is winning the world cup related to electing a pope?

All rulers are ordained by God..just because he's not your choice, doesn't mean he's not God's choice
There is the absolute will of God, and there is the permissive will of God. Adam and Eve ate the fruit in the garden, not because God willed it absolutely but he still permitted it. In the same vein, not all leaders of men are appointed because God absolutely willed so. He has given man freewill, and most often time, man doesn't necessary follow God absolutely but allow his personal emotions and sentiments to come in and God permits man's interest to stay.

If you read 1Sam.8, you will see the people of Israel asking for a king when God would have preferred they continue with the judges. When Samuel revolted, God reminded Samuel that it is he God the Israelites rejected and not Samuel and despite that, he told Samuel to give them their desired king. Samuel would later warned the Israelites of the burdens and oppression the kings would lay on them.
So that Tinubu became Nigerian president doesn't mean that because God permitted it, he necessarily willed it should be so. The truth is that the fact that they rigged election to get him there already shows that God didn't will him to be the President because God cannot be part of a fraud.

There is no such thing as perfect or permissive
What you are only trying to do is to rationalize why God allows things that u dont like to happen. That is beyond you, for he sees the end from the beginning. You only see today.
How do you explain the choice to eat the fruit made by Adam and Eve when God already told them not to eat the fruit?

The world cup is in your power to win.
While the Pope you are clamouring for is not within your power.
