Honestly, I'm a United fan but Aston Villa almost made it if not for the referee. A whole Premier league goalkeeper can not hold small ball wey no be shot sef. Just a point would have sent them through because Newcastle failed to win. I feel for them. Infact, like 95% of this current Man Utd squad needs to be offloaded. Liverpool has won 20 premier league trophies. Manutd has won 20 as well. 13 of which was won by Sir Alex Fergusen. So if fergusen hadn't coached Manutd we might have had less than 10 EPL trophies. 3 Likes |

omooba969:5 spots up for grab which reduced Europa and Conference leagues to a single one, since Spurs won Europa. Newcastle was the main obstacle and a draw for Villa would have put them in that 5th position. |

Wordson:It wasn't about hoping anyway. They simply are not good enough... They were lucky to get that far in Europa, not because they prioritised it over the league. They were never finishing in the top 6 or 7, no matter how they tried... Same with Spurs. As soon as both teams escaped relegation with games to spare, what else did you expect them to do?!! Keep stressing few key players just to finish 2 or 3 steps above their current dismal positions?!! What difference would that have made?!! If Spurs had dropped out of Europa at the Knockouts, and finished 10th, what would they have gained?!! Spurs are even more useless than United, and only won that final by stroke of luck. Both teams have massively declined. So, it's not anything about putting eggs in one basket abeg...! Spurs and United had no eggs to begin with... Just empty baskets. |
