“The NEC will address any issues. This isn’t a physical fight or a man-to-man confrontation. All this unnecessary drama is uncalled for,” he added.

Woyengikuro dismissed Wike’s public accusations and advised Nigerians to seek official party positions from the appropriate authorities.

“Please, reach out to the chairman or the publicity secretary for the party’s official position,” he advised.

However, Rt. Hon. Jones Onyereri, a member of the PDP Board of Trustees, offered a differing view in his own comments to Vanguard on Sunday. He questioned why anyone would walk back on agreements brokered by respected party elders.

“Why would anyone renege on an agreement that elders staked their reputations to broker? These are high-ranking members of the party — sitting governors, former governors — who reached a consensus. So why go back on it? It’s not a good look,” Onyereri said.

The controversy stems from Wike’s recent claims that key PDP figures, including Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, had reneged on previously reached agreements intended to stabilize the party. Citing dishonesty and lack of trust, Wike announced his withdrawal from all such deals.

Efforts to reach PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, for the party’s official response were unsuccessful, as multiple calls to his mobile line went unanswered as of press time.

Of a truth PDP is dead and buried

While APC is already planning for 2027 , with a consensus candidate PDP is finding it hard to even have a meeting and keep to agreement

And they want to contest against a sitting president, let inec not disturb us for any presidency election in 2027 the results is already out

Please read things up. Years back when PDP lost power at the centre it got abandoned by its members notably Atiku and the Governors elected on the platform of the Party. Wike single handedly provided the needed resources for the Party’s sustenance paying the staff salaries and generally ensuring that the party structure remained in place. That is the reason why it is Wike that the party knows and is why he cannot easily be removed from the party.

Wike is doing all this nonsense because he knows that no southerner can defeat Tinubu, only a northerner of Atiku's political stature can give the Vampire of Iragbiji a run for his money in 2027.

Peter Obi needs to retrace his step, swallow his pride and deputise for Atiku one last time, otherwise this solo run will only end up splitting their votes and giving Tinubu an easy victory just like the last polls.

If Atiku truly loves Nigeria like he claims he can strike a deal with Obi to hand over to him after a single term, the two of them on 2027 ticket would rack up so many votes it would be impossible for Tinubu to rig/alter results without Nigeria going up in flames as a consequence - he'd be in the same tight spot Buhari put GEJ in 2015

That doesn't give him the right to bring the party down.
