The truth is, hard times are shaping our culture and reality. It's not uncommon for elderly ones to use their children as retirement plan in this part of the world, but times are hard now. Men are struggling to fend for themselves, their immediate families and their aged parents.

But who takes care of elderly women who didn't get married, had no child and didn't adopt any? The same nephews and nieces who are struggling to take care of themselves? This is why some of them will have to resort to going to care homes where they will get decent care before they kick the bucket.

If Hope can place street light on all road in Orlu main town or city, that will go along way to help the second city in Imo state attract some local investors just like Nnewi or Onitsha in Anambra.


Aside Orlu is actually meant to be like Awka or Owerri as the capital of a State under review or proposed.


Orlu keeps producing Governors with nothing to show.


Can Hope turn the tide and is he currently righting that wrong?


Time will tell but this video of Orlu looks promising.

You observed correctly - Orlu is supposed to be like Awka and Abakaliki. But Abacha refused to create Njaba state then. Instead, he created 7 states in his NW zone.
Yet Orlu did not give up, it continued to develop despite that it has no institution with large population, unlike Owerri, Awka and Abakaliki with multiple institutions with large populations.
Gov Hope is like he is bent on creating a second modern city for Imo state, given the way he has embarked on reconstruction of roads in Orlu and the surrounding local govt areas.

we don't need to divide Imo state further, the state is already small, we need to add another states like Anioma to make us six.

Due to political underrepresentation of the
people in the southeast and the denied federal allocations and development projects arising from the five states only political structure in the southeast, the southeast deserves a sixth state. They don't use land mass as yardstick to create new states.

In Imo state, one zone holds nearly 95% of all govt establishments for Imo state. The zone should agree to redistribution of the govt establishments to Orlu and Okigwe zones before it starts to object to creating another state from Imo state.

are you pained on hearing aba is enjoying 24 24 hours light? Some parts get 20 hours lights it's still work in progress. OBJ recently commissioned some power station recently. Geometric is busy connecting aba with high tension from it's feeders. the governor is negotiating with eedc to free the remaining side of Abia, the whole of abia will become a reality some. so calm down

Imo state has the potential of becoming an Agricultural power house. I just hope the roads will last the next 30 years plus

If u saw these roads built by say governor otti or Soludo, u would have praised them to high heavens and say uzodinma is not doing anything, u wouldn't have asked if the road would last up to 30 years plus, but now uzodinma did it, instead of u to applaud him u now came with another talk of an ingrate "I just hope the roadswill last up to 30 years plus". I think most people from imo have complex issues, never want to see anything good in their state, but always quick to compare their state with another in a negative manner.
