Hi,

Pls I have also tried tracking my parents passport to no avail. They submitted on 22nd April, my dad got an email to pick up his passport but it was discovered that he had a wrong passport photograph which he rectified and resubmitted his passport on the 7th May.

Quite worried cos they are scheduled to travel to Canada next month.

If the delay is longer than usual then use the ''Create a ticket'' option in your scheduling account a k.a AVITS in order to send an inquiry describing the issue. They will respond with the location of your P. 👍

That tracking page is always 95% accurate most of the time which makes me believe that your parents visas are still in process.

** Besides, it seems your dad & your mom submitted renewal via IW but while working on your dad's visa (and your mom's passport is Cooling in the file) it was discovered that his passport photo needed to be re-snap hence taking the embassy backward in allotted time for your parents.

My thinking, based on personal experiences and research is that your dad's visa is ready but they are working on your mom's visa in which the embassy plans to release both at the same time.


NOTE: IW renewal processing time usually takes (2) months so you have to keep tracking and have patience. If you have calculated after 8 weeks and still in status quo then you may get back to us on Nairaland or call the embassy directly. 👍

You don’t have any problem. They will let you know when your passport is ready for pickup.

With the DS-160 and your appointment confirmation letter, you are all set. You don't need to fill any other form.

Be sure to confirm the DS-160 number on your appointment letter is the exact DS-160 you want the visa officer to evaluate for your application.

It is better for her to say she is coming to see her child and grandchild. she hoped to have been there to support you for your childbirth but unfortunately her visa was denied. If she says for birth they might do a check-up and see. Every child born has social security number. She should just be honest. I suggest you write the embassy(they read their mails) that your mum missed out on a precious moment and you will like for her to come over and meet her grandchild.

I have a 5 year US visa that I have used to travel twice before. I am currently pregnant and want to use it to give birth. Can I still use it for this purpose? Can you advice me on what to do? Do I send a letter of change of intent or do I re-apply and request for another interview to state my intent?

Mamaiyanu I don’t want to quote your post because those guys read here. Abort mission with that letter if you know you want to still enter after your five years has ended.
If you still need your visa don’t attempt suggestion number two that you’re giving yourself.

Did you now later get to pick up the VISA in Akure?
I am in somewhat similar situation and could use your help.

Can someone help me with how to get in touch with OIS service? from their site my parent passport is ready for pick up at 14 Idowu Taylor St, Victoria Island, Lagos 101241, Lagos. but i made a booking with payments for pick up at DHL office Akure, the appointment day was a public holiday, however a day after my parent went to the dhl office they were told that they have not received the passport. i want online to track the passport with the tracking number on the receipt but it is showing invalid tracking id. I need urgent help as my parent trip has been booked immediately after visa approval. I called their office number i found online, it appears the number is not working +2348033889215. i already booked the flight ticket

This email is primarily for American citizens (not relatives of American citizens) who require in-country support services eg lost passport, arrest and detentions, emergency evacuation etc.

Mine was updated on the 19th .. but nothing different so far .. I really don’t understand what the hell is going on

FYI, for Mexico you don’t need a visa if you have a valid US visa. Another great thing is that Mexico practices Jus soli.

Mexico has one of the world’s strongest passports.

Yes boss. You are right and thus the reason why I recommended the Mexico route as an alternative since the Brazil route is likely going to take time/delay (if she's already far gone into the pregnancy)
To add to that; having a France visa can also get her into Mexico. Gracias boss

My mum’s interview was set for 6 June 2025, but the embassy will be closed for a holiday that day. I contacted them through the scheduling website and was told to reschedule, yet the next available appointments are more than a year away. Is there any way to secure an earlier date? She would have kept the original appointment if the embassy were open.

Hello.
Don't die before the death. Don't reschedule yourself. Keep watching out via email (check spam mail too) as the embassy will send a notification and reschedule option to you. If they don't leave your appointment as it stand as i am certain they will do before or after the holiday.

Although you can still click on reschedule option intermittently perhaps another date in June (after the holiday) will pop out. 👍

What is the cureent date for visa in lagos.
