Maxymilliano:It’s unfortunate that many Nigerians often focus on divisive tribal sentiments rather than engaging in constructive, data-driven discourse. As a nation, we sometimes miss the opportunity to have meaningful conversations that could drive real progress. Rather than engaging in unproductive arguments or boasting about which state generated more VAT, we should be asking critical questions that foster national development. The VAT data above presents a wealth of insights that could stimulate informed dialogue among educated youths. There are numerous important areas for discussion/questions from the data from the data generated from the VAT, such as: Economic & Policy Analysis Questions Economic and Revenue Analysis Policy and Governance Comparative & Regional Insights Development & Planning Questions Business and Investment Relevance Governance & Administrative Questions Instead of allowing inter-state rivalry to cloud our judgment, we should be reflecting on these issues collectively. This is what true patriotism and leadership demand. If we, as the emerging generation, cannot rise above tribalism and engage with the pressing challenges of our time, then we have serious soul-searching to do. The path to a better Nigeria begins with informed dialogue, not division. You guys should go to Quora and see how reasonable people discuss on issues. |

dederocs:one parasitic rodent is even up above your comments screeching and squeaking about if only major conglomerates and company headquarters are paying their taxes where their work factories and installations are based. All in their usual 'what ifs' and' if only ' lamentations and gibberish. I wonder when these loudmouthed pest will realise no one wants to bring a company headquarter to a place where it' s own people are moving out in droves and unknown gunmen have reduced productive hours by one important day ! |
Oyo state alone generate more than the five eastern state combine . Ndi developer, they will soon start saying they develop Oyo state. But they cannot develop their 5 plots of land.
|

olaolaking:Comments like that don’t need to be here, they’ll attract reactions and the thread will get messy. The mods need to act so people that make such comments can find something better to do with their lives. From experience it’s usually the lowest of the low in the society that make these comments, those who paste account numbers all over social media. If you had anything good going for you, Igbos won’t be in your head when you wake up in the morning or go to bed. You get the point? |

This thing remains a mystery. Benue, Jigawa & Sokoto generated More VAT than Anambra, Kaduna and Ogun that are clearly more industrialised and populated 🫣 Ekiti generated far more than Ogun State 🤔 We need more enlightenment on how this thing is being calculated Maxymilliano: |

ProudlyLagos:Do you know that VAT is consumption tax? Do you know that VAT placed on finished goods makes those goods expensive? What do the majority of oyo & ekiti indigenes do as work? Probably state civil servants as they are really educated. So you want civil servants to be paying more for goods and services in this terrible economy where inflation is depleting the purchasing power of fixed income earners just so that you can jump up and be tribalistic? Don't you know that the low VAT generated in SE means cost of living there is low? You guys are just illiterates |
