The Lagos State government has said the ratio of public to private schools at both primary and secondary school levels in the state is one to 22.

The state’s Commissioner for Education, Mrs Folasade Adefisayo, gave the revelation in her remark at the 2022 edition of the Total School Support Seminar Exhibition (TOSSE) held at Oregun in Ikeja between Thursday and Friday.

Ordinary secondary school leaver that goes on an Udemy crash course of four (4) months on Digital Marketing can earn N700k monthly.

If govt brings policy that doesn’t serve anybody’s interests people will complain - which is normal, but if govt brings policy that serves citizens interests even if just a few people, instead of praising it and seeing it as a positive change, people will still complain about it! Na wa, wetin govt suppose do… just sit in power and steal money only?

Seeing above comments made me believe that no one can please Nigerians. They are alot of guys doing naughty jobs for 30 to 40k,wasting away.
I have always encourage guys to learn skill but what discouraged most is who to sponsor them. With this govt policy,I believe most of them should not have any excuse not to learn skills in technical schools.

What technicians and artisans need is access to modern techniques and methods of doing their jobs not stipends
With that, they'll be able to become more productive and even export their skills
Imagine that most mech, carpenters, bricklayers, welders in Nigeria cannot compete favourably with the ones from Benin and Togo in terms of modern methods of carrying out their crafts
They are only useful to the politicians to cajole them to vote during elections after which they are abandoned to their fate!!

The main reasons some people prefer to give their work to Togo and Benin guys are cheaper services and they won't do your work halfway and start another renegotiation to increase their charges., Prompt and seriousness. Not that their skills are better than the Nigerians'
