ya gusto had his inform period, he guffed today doesn't take away how good he played this season off position from right back to left defensive midfield to attack then back to defense again. He is the reason we didn't feel James absence early in the season, he is a solid back up option

Options. Create an attacking options. Whenever Madueke was driving inward,i don't see any of our so called midfielders standing on the edge of the box waiting for pass so they could shoot from outside the box just like Caicedo did today and that was because it was almost a counter. Do they expect him(Madueke) to go shot with his weaker right foot? If it had occurred ones, i could have believe it is the players fault, but since it keeps occurring,it has to be a tactical problem.

I have to take you several years back,whenever Arjen Robben or any of our wingers were moving,frank lampard is always giving them options,either running ahead or waiting behind to shot outside the box.


Remember the goal Micheal Essien scored against Arsenal in 2006,it came from Arjen Robben who was playing the same LWF forward as Madueke today, Robben cut the ball back to Lampard who would later lay it down for Micheal Essien who was on motion and had better opportunity to hit the ball well. Today if Madueke decides to cut the ball to the midfield there won't be any of our midfielders there. They could have been somewhere hiding.

I can give you tones of example of how frank Lampard was giving our midfielders options if you care.

Don't worry, Maresca is not going anywhere. Then you will see the likes of Estevao and subsequently, Quenda come in and nail that position.

You think Olise will be limited in this same tactical set-up? The problem is Madueke himself. He's a player who only engages his football brain when he has space to run into. Outside of that, he's very limited and has poor decision-making.
