Kelklein:You framed this conversation with a predetermined outcome. You have posed two sets of questions: 1. Did the ruling party set out to take Edo State? 2. Was the Court's decision legally incorrect? These are two sets of distinct questions. While it might be true that APC desperately wanted Edo, it could also be true that PDP was unable to prove its case in court. These two truths can co-exist and that is the central point of my argument. APC wanted Zamfara, and they did win the election there. But could not legally defend their claim in Court and we all know the implication. NB: You said it is asue's turn today and it could be my turn tomorrow. Yes, thats true both in Nigeria and everywhere in the world. Or who told you that the courts in 'advanced countries' don't carry out miscarriage of justice? |
