Yes. You need a valid USA visa to pass through US on your way to Canada.
I will advise you to abort mission and use another route like Lagos-Amsterdam-Canada with KLM if you do not have a valid USA visa on your passport, this is because ICE is not smiling now and can pounce on you at the port of entry to detain you or even send you to El Salvador prison, with the MAGA craziness going on in America.

A valid U.S. visa is required to pass through a U.S. airport

If I have passed Eligibility, criminality, info sharing and remain just security which is yet to start, and IRCC sent MR letter, and panel physician requested for medical furtherance due to TB scare, my question is, while the sputum test is ongoing, will IRCC continue with evaluating security or every part of the application becomes stagnant until the medical is passed?

Just want to know if IRCC will continue to assess my security or they will wait till medical is passed

I believe both checks are not mutually exclusive. Security checks will continue independently of the ongoing medical re-check; however, IRCC will not issue PPR without passing medical, even if you passed Security and other background checks.

I think you meant to say “they are not mutually exclusive”.

Yes you need a visa to connect via USA. You also need a valid Schengen Visa if transiting through more than one airport in Europe, so book a single transfer in Europe. Check any route you're passing very well using public sources and airline websites.

They do not state it on the profile. But if you call ircc the agents can tell u which of the three stages under background check you have passed. Be it infor sharing, criminality or i cant remember the name of the last one.

Again, is the kind of school a person obtained a degree from really a factor in WES evaluation or their primary concern is the person's academic results irrespective of the institution it is gotten from?

We got a pre-arrival services letter on February 3, 2025.
We finally got our FD and tracker updated with CoPr details on May 8, 2025.
No PPR mail yet, and it's now almost four weeks since then.
It's been more than 8 months now in total.

Any other person with the same experience?
Please advise.

If I'm to predict, I'd say you'll get your FD and RFV in April .
I had my MEP on November 20th
Pre-arrival on January 3rd
Then silence until 3rd of March when FD came and subsequently the next day, the PPR arrived.
It was about 6 months after my AOR which was Sep 11.
So yours is on its way, very close actually. Probably just a slow VO, calm those nerves mademoiselle

You may have missed out the mail.

Send webform immediately. Same thing happened to me, once yo have COPR details, PPR has happened already. Check all your mails search using IRCC and other keywords. I saw that I had missed out the PPR mail one month earlier, sometimes the subject is "Ready For Visa"

Btw, quick advice for the doctors and health professionals among us, hope yall know of the Healthcare category based draws? It's your best show so take advantage.

Although the score was ridiculously 500 from yesterday's draw, I hope it drops in the future.
