If your currency is truly worth N250 naira to 1 usd, why does the government have to subsidize the usd to keep at that rate. It simply means the previous exchange rates were artificial and not the true value of naira. The current value of naira is the closest to it true value.

The last administration made sure when he assumed office .wether he liked it or not subsidy must be removed as a condition for the previous administration to assess loans in dollars to run its own latter ending of it's administration.
So tinubu could not fund subsidy of petroleum products.he literally hard no funds,he had a huge dollar debt and expenditures in the budget that were mounting.
To create more he had to shift the cost of petroleum to the masses by removing subsidy based on the rhem prevailing dollar rate(#618) which it claimed to be the value price
But free market manipulated the dollar rates and created instability and it shot up to #1500
This created the inflation you see today
Now. This meant the govt now has more money in naira but.......there is a caxeat

The caveat... The govt has to find a way to solve it's core economic issue
And the inflation is one core issue

Concerning theb$20 billion loan .
I am yet to read up on it to ascertain it's validity.zo I can't comment on that
But I do agree that whole the govt now has funds in naira it has also raked up expenses that are raking on its alleged gains

Inflation is derived from its unstable/overpriced dollar rate
Inflation is derived from its high cost of fuel products which I don't even understand why it is so
Food inflation as a result of insurgency,attacks on farms and high cost of transportation
High cost of doing business
Multiple taxation and levies
Pr manufacturing output
