Only some bitter lemon people do not pray for the success of this project. Imagine being able to go to Calabar in 5hrs as opposed to the usual half a day long journey.

Failures have nothing to show Nigerians except an uncompleted road after wasting trillions of naira that should have been spent on small scale businesses to create employment for people but when you remember they said their government is awalokan, so the endless failures is more or less a tribal cultural thing of their people
The monies should have been given to small business es so that 70-90% of them will squander the money and we will not have a vibrant economy nor infrastructure to show for. How many times has the government given loans to youth and small businesses in this country? What has been the impact on the economy?
Some of you are just anti Nigeria for nothing. You compare her to other nations in terms of infrastructure but still turn around to talkdown on her even when things are done right. We never willing to take responsibility for our actions. Nothing she does will ever make you happy so just pack your things and go to Niger republic or somewhere.

The worse part is that these are the same set of people that will hail the Junta in Burkina Faso commissioning even a few kilometer of roads and a tomato paste factory. Shame on people like you

Where are the earth moving equipment, where are the workers, where exactly is this place?
Anyone can take pictures of a random abandoned construction site and claim it is the so called coastal high way.
If they can steal Donald Duke's pictures and claim it is the fake akantants' then there's nothing they cannot do.

Laslas, it will only be a standalone road. The probability of its connecting to the Lagos end is very slim. The BAT people know what they are doing. They're dodging the most difficult terrains of the so called coastal road i.e Edo, Delta, Bayelsa and Rivers. By the time the south south people realise that they have been deceived, time is gone. What they should push for is the coastal railway meant to connect the Niger Delta capitals to Lagos, which was earlier estimated to cost about 11billion dollars.
Do you know that they road comes with rail?

What they believe is not possible,is what we are now 30km.

However, nobody need to tell you that the second year will be more than 30km because of many things that have started that are not completed in both Axis

Worry not!

Every successive President in Nigeria had people who swore that he was the Messiah that Nigeria needed while the country retrogressively slipped into abyss. It will be silly to expect supporters of Tinubu not to tow the same line of thought. We are talking about Nigeria where people have been conditioned to stand logic upside down. To maintain one's sanity in this environment, it is necessary to lower one's expectations to the barest minimum. Will I ever be disappointed about Nigeria? Never! I see it for what it is.

Surprisingly the Environmental impact assessment criers of yesteryear are suddenly mute.

My suggestion is that the Calabar route should extend to cross river north city of Ogudu then to Ebonyi, the get into Benue state where it can join the highway leading to Abuja . So that the Agricultural potentials in cross river, ebony, Benue and nassarawa can keep the route busy all year long
Thats the Trans-Saharan highway. Its currently under construction.

Make Una listen. It's called a coastal road because it passes through all the states that have a coastline in Nigeria, Lagos, ogun, Ondo, delta, bayelsa, rivers, Akwa ibom and cross river. The idea that you will be driving along this road and seeing beaches all along the way is not possible. Bayelsa, Delta, and river state especially have flooding rivers, deep mangroves where no man can and should build a road pass, so the road will be situated inland because of this. The only places you are likely to see some beaches and coastline is Lagos, Ondo and Akwa Ibom. Please educate yourselves. Thank you.

10 years after ...
This road will become dilapidated filled with potholes
Successive govt will struggle to fix it..
Thats the story of all the major roads in Nigeria..
We need to move to rail transportation...
Its faster...cheaper... and affordable for the masses..
Lagos Blue Line transports 2.37 million passenger in 15months...
It also reduce the stress on existing roads... makin them last longer ....
Reduce rural urban migration...
Masses will me from urban areas to rural areas sine there is an effective rail system.
It will also ease up transportation of agric produce around the country at an affordable price ..

Do you know that they road comes with rail?
It doesn't. What Umahi said was that there will be a rail (ie space for future railway) on the median of the road. So far, we are yet to see that clearance. They're even struggling to get enough clearance for the road itself, not to mention a railway.
