Why Is George Akume Silent While Fulani Herdsmen Massacre His People? by Ezewuzie01(op): 7:47pm On Jun 02, 2025
It is shameful that the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume is putting his beef with his state governor Hyacinth Alia above and over the lives of his Tiv kinsmen. Instead of using his high office and closeness to Tinubu to ensure adequate protection of his people, he is watching aloof thinking the killings will reduce the popularity of the governor.

You are asking a politician? Don't you know the major problem in Nigeria is selfishness?

That is the major issue why we cannot make progress. If people are only concerned about their tribal man being in power, how about when they have opportunity to share from the cake? Others can simply go to hell. Forget Nigeria is going no where my brother

It's the dangers lurking in the Middle Belt that I fear for.. that belt is very strategic in inter-State travel and trade. This same culture of neglect by the Government of Nigeria was how armed militancy started in the Niger Delta. It's the same thing those nonchalant politicians in Government today are repeating, neglecting the people of Benue and Plateau States till armed militancy groups will start springing up that can end Nigeria (yes, I mean it).
PBAT should heed our plea.. deploy all State assets to the Middle Belt and neutralize all those killing innocent Nigerians, else he might not have a country to rule in 2 - 3 yrs from now.

Mr. SGF Akume, respectfully sir, please use your Office to save lives of the people of Benue. Don't just sit there, playing politics, act now while you can before they will eliminate all your kinsmen.

He is not a leader so do expect too much from him.

Benue State don't have leaders, the earlier people realize this, the better.
There's no responsible leader from Benue, from poIiticaI to cuIturaI to spiritual, I'm sure the founder of Dunamis is from Benue, he can use his platform to amplify what's happening in Benue.
They are all just self centered.

The same reason Orji Kalu is silent while his "best friend" Tinumgbu is busy totally sidelining the South East from almost every federal government programmes..

Same reason folks like Hope Uzodimma and Andy Ubah were at the back clapping, while Sanwo Olu was reminding Tinumgbu to term Peter Obi as "import and export", knowing fully well the tribal derogatory connotations of the term. Or even when Tinumgbu himself stood at Enugu and promised the east "a soaked slice of bread"!

Same reason the likes of Chris Ngige and Dave Umeahi continuously defend both Buhari and Tinumgbu for appointing only their kinsmen to serious political positions in government.. "He has to work with those he lnows" they told us!

Same reason South south leaders will prefer to join the jamboree and participate in the looting of their oil resources instead of trying to put an end to that.
Same reason Hausa leaders keep quiet in the face of fulani attempts to ethnically cleans the north of any other ethnic groups apart from the fulani
Should I continue?

It is nothing but elite aloofness and solidarity.
Most of these socalled leaders of different ethnic and regional groups in the country, are totally removed from the immediate realities of their native environments. They have spent so much time at the top andbhave been away for so long at Abuja that it will be fair to say that their loyalties lie elsewhere.

But more importantly, most of them may never have amounted to any significant political or economic presence/stature in their respective home areas if not for the direct roles of some powerful characters in government at the federal level, who recruited them, empowered them(ala Rochas) and domesticated them back in their different tribal enclaves as nothing but willing proxies..

If you understand this, you will know why no prominent Benue man can speak out.

ALL OF THEM ARE CORRUPT.
Akume, David Mark, Gabriel Suswam, Abba Moro, Ortom...all of them. Their is non that hasn't stolen state/government funds. They dare not raise their voices or even take steps to provide arms to their people else they'll get visited by the EFCC.
