The problem with this data is that they didn't say the price, they bought and sold.

They presented the data as if stocks is like a money doubling scheme where as there are other companies that did very poor.

In 2023, the lowest price of transcorp stock was N3.19, it highest was N19.20

If you put 1m at N3.19 that is 313.5k shares
If you put 1m at N19.20, you will get 52k shares

In 2025,, the lowest price of transcorp stock was NGN 42.90 and the highest is N43

If you sell, 313.5k shares at 42.90, you will make N13.4m but your profit is 12.4m

If you sell 52k shares at N43, you will make 2.2M but your profit will just be N1.2M

So your profit depends on the amount of shares you have, the price you bought it and the price you sold it

No matter how we clarify this...one thing is clear.. people actually made huge profits..even from what you analysed.

Include devaluation of Naira..still massive profits

You can use this CSCS account to monitor your trades and portfolio. Some stock brokers have real-time trading platforms that you can use to monitor your trades and portfolio as well.
3. The stock market is a long term project and requires great patience and monitoring of your investments. It is not ''cash-and-carry'' or ''kalo-kalo''. It is not like ''Baba Ijebu''.
5. Join a platform, e.g. this NSEMPA platform where you can read good and useful discussions about various companies on the NGX
4. Start with some small amount of money that you can afford to set aside for a very long time, or even lose in the worst case scenario.
5.Some companies, especially the banks, pay regular dividends. You may start from the banks to understand and feel how the dividend works out, or any other companies of your choice.
6. You can then increase your investments as time goes on and you understand the antics of the market.

At the beginning of 2025, Transcorp rebased their shares by dividing the shares by four. The technicalities involved in this I cannot explain as i am not an economist. But if your shares was 1m before, it will come down to 250,000. So by your analysis, the 313.5k shares had come down to 78.25k. by the time you multiply that by the current share price of N43, you will get N3.37m, not N13.4m,

You know the market Sir. I just lost all my investment on a penny US stock cause of the same stock split.

The value of TransCorp shares is a blatant lie. I bought somes shares there as far back as year 2007 at the rate of #7.50 per share. Fast forward to to 2025 it's worth less than 50 kobo. Buying shares in some companies in Nigeria is an exercise in futility.
