While Chelsea’s strict wage structure promotes financial stability, but it can hinder the club’s competitiveness and cause challenging in players recruitment, and it will be hard to retain some good performing players who is wanted by another club, so we are at risk of losing them to clubs offering better financial terms.
Can we sign Osimhen with this rigid structure?
If this should continue, it
will weaken our negotiating power with agents, who prefer clubs offering premium wages to their clients.
Expect the trend where Chelsea becomes a selling team and eventually becomes a small club. Except they have policy of rewarding exceptional players.

I will take Petrovic over maignan

Stop using the bolded loosely. Maignan can be said to be decent at least, but not world Class.

Have you ever stopped to consider why so many people take issue with Madueke but not with Neto — even though Neto’s stats are far worse? It’s simple: it comes down to attitude.

Neto, despite being an average or even below-average player at times, works hard for the team. He tracks back when we’re under pressure and doesn’t carry himself like he’s the second coming of Messi. Meanwhile, Madueke strolls around casually while the team is under siege. I witnessed several occasions last season where goals were conceded because he failed to track his man or support the team defensively.

Now think about when Palmer went through a rough patch and wasn’t performing. No one was on his case. Why do you think that is? Again — attitude. Even when Palmer isn’t at his best, you can see him putting in the effort, trying to support the team. You can’t say the same for Madueke.

Honestly, I’m glad he and his “brother from Manchester” are finally on their way out. They should pack their bags quick quick……and go. The club needs to keep moving players like this on at the earliest opportunity — it sends the right message and helps raise the overall standard of players.

Sell Petrovic and Sign Mike?

How is Mike better than Petrovic?
Does it mean Mike plays in a more balance league automatically make him better than Petrovic, who plays in France?
how is an experienced top level goal keeper better than petrovic or is Mike on decline that I didn't know about

It's about balance
Spain had two left footed cb against either Italy or Switzerland in Europe 2021. Both of them clattered into each other and gifted the opposition a goal
Why are two right footed CBs allowed but not two left footers. Are left footers missing brain cells or something?

They should take Sancho back and squeeze some utility from him in the last year of his contract. He is not a bad player and he will be motivated to shine to keep earning big bucks from his next contract.

You just stated the obvious , but how else can you reward exceptional players if not through wages?

If the wage structure is capped at £200k, and let’s assume we win the league next season, our best players , let's say, Palmer or Caicedo , let's assume they are on £180k. Meanwhile, someone like Isak at Newcastle, whose team didn’t even finish in the top four, is earning £230k or more. How do you think our players will feel? They’ll definitely be tempted by better offers if they come.

So, you can’t claim to uphold a strict wage structure while failing to keep up with the market standards set by your competitors.
Who does that?

I can't remember a WorldCup/EPL/UCL winning team with two left footed first choice CB pairing and I can't tell the reason for that. But two right footed CBs have successfully won all of these.

I know we're talking about CB pairing but I've seen RBs playing as LBs and doing exceptionally well...recent memory; Lahm, Azpi, Aina, Spence, Alves, etc but may be they exist and I didn't pay attention but I've never seen a LB doing well at a RB for an extended period. In fact, I've not seen at all. It can happen but I can't imagine Evra or Cole as RBs

I remember a game where Enrique played Pau Torres and Laporte, two lefties and they were clattering into each other and even gave away a goal in the process. In the upcoming fixtures, Enrique had to go with Eric Garcia and Laporte, dropping Pau in the process.

Barca also had Umtiti and Lenglet (two lefties)for one game like that, I think they lost that game 2:0 or so. I'll look for the screenshot of that game if I can find it.

Its not forbidden and could happen but it's a very rare scenario. I just don't see Colwil and Veiga playing 38 games together or Colwil and Batsoni. I don't know but let's see how it goes.

This board are bunch of clowns. Are you expecting who has worked hard for years to reduce his wages because em wan play for Chelsea?

That is how they are disrespecting Osimhen by asking him to lower his wages. Is Essiti abi na Ekiti better pass Osimhen?
I am with the board here because it won't make sense offering a player 300k and when they flop like lukaku and sterling it becomes a problem finding a buyer something which is affecting United till date.
Don't forget Americans are the smartest of business people in the world hence the incentive based salary now being offered. The more you show your value (like Palmer and Caicedo) the more the club increases your salary.
I believe they learnt from Sterling's situation as well as others like Kepa who is yet to be sold

That's because only 8% of people are left footed (including my humble self)

So statistically the chance of having two left footed centrebacks playing together is 0.64% (8% x 8%) while the chance of having two right footers is 84.64% (92% x 92%) while the chance of having a combination of both is 14.72% (8% x 92% x 2). Add these 3 numbers together and you get 100%, it's simple Mathematics.

That's why you can't remember two left footers playing CB successfully because the statistical probability of them even playing together is less than 1% not because of anything you've witnessed.

Think about it, Badiashile was our first left footed centreback since Frank Sinclair in 1997, a 25 year gap - Edit - I forgot Malang Sarr and Djilobodji but they hardly played.

Yep, I'm aware of all the statistics and all. It's something I've analysed multiple times with colleagues. Lefties are quite rare, I know.

I was looking at a situation where there are actually two or more lefties in a team playing similar position especially CB/RB and how much they played together. I think we had Colwil, Badashile and Veiga together at a time and they didn't play much together. Barca had Lengtlet and Umtiti together yet they played together once or twice. Spain had Pau and Laporte but when they played together it was calamitous. so bad that forkin Eric Garcia was brought in to start.

Lefties are rare, I'm aware. In my school days there was only one left footed player in our entire team and he was a right winger. Our left back was actually right footed.

The chance of having two left footers who are good is very low. Let's say only 10% of centrebacks are World Class. If that applies to left footers and right footers evenly, that means the chance of having a world class left footed centreback is 10% of 8% (only 0.8%). On top of that you have to find two of them, so the chance of both being World Class is even lower. I don't rate Pau Torres nor Lenglet, and by the time Lenglet joined Barca, Umtiti was already washed.

A development factor is another reason. Because of the scarcity of left footers, they are always used at LCB, and never get to learn the RCB position from youth. Whereas right footers often learn the LCB position because there is often no left footer to play there

Anyone who thinks Bastoni will improve Chelsea by even 3% with a midfield expressway needs a serious konk on the head. The same Bastoni that just chopped five against PSG after his midfield got overwhelmed

I will keep repeating it, centreback is the easiest position to play in football. Every single one of our centrebacks is serviceable. You can even win league with Badiashile and Disasi as long as the midfield is in control, talkless of Colwill, Fofana, Jesus boy and Tosin. Our CB is already stacked. We have won league and UCL with David fking Luiz and Gary fking Cahill. There is no centreback in world football who won't crumble when facing repeated one v ones. Nobody is superman. Even Maldini and Nesta the so called GOATs crumbled horribly from 3-0 up against Liverpool and from 4-1 up against Deportivo

Our most important piece of business this summer is removing Enzo from our midfield, otherwise if you like spend £1 billion on defenders, you labour in vain
