BREAKING PATRIOTISM: Why Abdullahi's Exit From APC Is Another Loud Whisper That Nigeria Needs Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala in 2027 🇳🇬🔥 📰 Shock Resignations. Silent Exits. Northern elite discontent. Mohammed H. Abdullahi, former Minister of Environment under Buhari, just quit APC. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed — silent resignation, no clear reason. More will follow. Let’s stop pretending we don’t know what’s going on. This is not politics as usual. It’s the elite rejection of a Tinubu-led war on terror, tribal greed, and inherited impunity. Because while Tinubu is finally doing what Northern elites never dared — confronting terror sponsors, shaking the old tables, and trying to rebuild real federalism — many are jumping ship. Why? Because the poor North wants peace, but the elite North wants power. (Elites want Power but the People want Peace) 🚨 But here’s the truth: Tinubu’s vision will collapse without a stabiliser.! A real one. Not a PR Vice President who disappears during national crises. Not a benchwarmer with tribal loyalty but zero reform credibility. This country is too fragile for decoration politics. We need someone who commands global respect and domestic discipline. 🎓 Someone who rescued us from debt in the 2000s. 💰 Who can negotiate capital, not just chop it. 🗣 Who speaks truth to power and gets results. ●|□ 👑 Enter Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala. Not as a woman. Not even as a political icon. But as a rescue partner — the exact counterbalance to Tinubu’s style of raw courage. Because power is not enough. Peace is not enough. Policy is everything. So yes, Shettima may be loyal. But Nigeria doesn’t need loyalty. It needs delivery.! We don’t need a co-pilot in shadows. We need a woman who’s sat at the table with the world’s economic titans, and held her own. 🛑 Because let’s be honest: The North is bleeding. The South is burning. The East is exhausted. The West is waiting. ...and the centre must hold — or we all fall. So when people like Abdullahi and Baba-Ahmed jump ship without cause, we must see it for what it is: 📢 A sign that Tinubu needs a better co-pilot — one who doesn’t just balance the ticket, but lifts the nation. •● Dear Tinubu, if you want to retire as a hero of history, not just a headline of ambition — you need Dr. Ngozi beside you in 2027. Let the patriots unite. Let the enemies of peace fall apart. Let us rise with brains, not just biceps. --- 🖋️ Oreoluwa O. Have you asked why Obasanjo sacked Mrs Okonjo Iweala and why she was borrowing money to pay workers in 2014 even with the humongous revenue Nigeria made from oil during that period? |
| Re: Abdullahi’s APC Exit Is The Signal: Only Ngozi Okonjo-iweala Can Save 2027! by Oreoluwa1996(op): 6:24pm On Jun 04, 2025 |
Ritchiee:Oh, I’ve asked—and unlike your echo chamber, I got answers rooted in sense, not bitterness. First off, let’s stop acting like Obasanjo is some flawless oracle of governance. This is the same man who fired anyone who didn’t lick his ego smooth. Mrs. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala wasn’t sacked for incompetence—she was let go because she had a spine and refused to be Obasanjo’s puppet. She wanted transparent financial reforms, while OBJ wanted control without question. It’s classic dictator energy disguised as “discipline.” As for the 2014 borrowing to pay salaries—you clearly skipped economics class. By 2014, global oil prices had nosedived. Even Saudi Arabia dipped into reserves. Nigeria, under GEJ, was already walking a tightrope due to unsustainable spending patterns inherited from—you guessed it—Obasanjo’s vainglorious empire-building and untouchable recurrent budget. So the borrowing? It wasn’t Okonjo-Iweala's doing. It was damage control.! She wasn’t borrowing to buy private jets for ministers or build a multi-billion dollar mansion in Otta. She was holding the country’s economy together with chewing gum and spreadsheets—because Obasanjo and his clones ate the national reserves with both hands. Meanwhile, Tinubu, the man you all love to insult, inherited an economy in far worse shape—zero savings, ballooning debt, subsidy madness—and instead of whining or playing the blame game for eight years, he’s rolling up his sleeves, getting to work. You don’t like Tinubu? That’s fine.! ...but if you’re holding Obasanjo up as a model of wisdom, then sorry—you’re not defending integrity. You’re glorifying selective amnesia. Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala didn’t fail. She just refused to play godfather games—and for that, she got pushed aside by a man whose definition of loyalty is subservience. Tinubu may be tough, but at least he respects capacity. That's why people like her still get applause from him and not petty side-eyes. So, ask again. But this time, ask with facts—not recycled propaganda. #Shalom |

Oreoluwa1996:This is ridiculous! Some unknown resigns from APC, it's a big news and you write a long epistle about it. Governors, Senators, Rep members former ministers, Opposition party chieftains defect to APC, it no news. It's just corrupt politicians bargaining their way out from EFCC's litigation. Oga! It's a normal thing. Politicians come and go as they please but the party remains. |

Misterone:You see, the problem isn’t just that people talk nonsense—it’s that they do so with confidence and no historical memory. Let me help you remember since your memory seems to have taken a sabbatical: Yes, politicians come and go. But when someone who was planted in government corridors to whisper sabotage suddenly “resigns,” it’s not just a random event—it’s a cleanup, not a coincidence. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed was not some tea boy; he was Peter Obi’s running mate’s brother and held a sensitive advisory role under a president he and his camp openly undermined. When such a person quietly resigns, you should ask: What were they doing there in the first place? Under Jonathan, Nigeria hemorrhaged security—not because the military was weak, but because the loyalty structure was compromised. People like Dasuki made sure funds meant for weapons disappeared into private pockets. Instead of drones and airstrikes, we got jingles and body counts. Yet people like you blamed Jonathan without calling out the embedded saboteurs. Then came Buhari—eight years of sleeping at the wheel while terrorists released from “deradicalization programs” regrouped. Instead of action, we got silence. Prison breaks. Mass abductions. Ransoms. ...the man couldn’t sack a gatekeeper, let alone address insecurity. Now Tinubu steps in. No excuses. No “GEJ left insecurity for me” speech. Just coordinated military strikes, decimation of bandit camps, and cleansing of planted moles—and you’re angry it’s news? Why? Because it shows the difference between action and excuse-making?! Meanwhile, people like you keep carrying Obi like a porcelain messiah. The same Obi that keeps one leg in Nigeria and the other at the IPOB family reunion. The same Obi whose own state, Anambra, is practically the blueprint for pothole governance and “Agbero federalism.” The man talks about fixing Nigeria but couldn’t fix Ochanja market road. Laughable.! So yes, i’ll talk about (Baba-Ahmed and co.) resigning. Because under Tinubu, Nigeria is no longer a lounge for fifth columnists. Some people's favourites had years to build—what they did was loot, leak, and lie. Welcome to a new era. Keep crying, but kindly do it with facts next time. |

Oreoluwa1996:Date Published: 09/08/11 Why Okonjo-Iweala was sacked by Obasanjo Ngozi Okonjo Iweala Olusegun Obasanjo Fresh facts have emerged as to why current finance minister, Dr Ngozi Okonjo Iweala was fired by former President Olusegun Obasanjo. Okonjo-Iweala who was top shot at the World Bank but returned to assume duties as substantive finance minister under President Goodluck Jonathan, was curiously removed by Obasanjo as finance minister and redeployed to the foreign Affairs ministry for undisclosed reasons. She is currently tagged the " supervisory " minister by President Goodluck Jonathan, a title that has put permanent frowns on the faces of her colleagues who feel the elevation was unnecessary. Okonjo-Iweala negotiated a landmark deal in which the Paris Club of rich sovereign creditors wrote off USD 18 billion of debt Africa's largest debt cancellation. Nigeria then usedwindfall earnings from oil exports to pay off another USD 12 billion in debts and arrears. However the figure of $34 billion in foreign put forward in 2006 by her office and that of the former Governor of Central Bank, Charles Soludo was disputed by Senator Farouk Bello Munza who maintained that the figure was about $9 billion. Shortly after she was removed as minister, Obasanjo relieved her as chairman of his economic think tank. advertisement But in a chat with Pointblanknews.com in Abuja, former presidential candidate for the Peoples Mandate Party (PMP), Dr Batos Nwadike insisted Obasanjo fired Okonjo- Iweala because of the debt buy back deal. He said further that even though the deal appeared legitimate, there were some moral questions that cast doubt on the intentions of the former minister . According him, even though Obasanjo saw her as the one with the magic wand, the former President was upset when he discovered went happened in the back room. Nwadike maintained that Obasanjo discovered that the firm that brokered the $12 Billion debt buy back deal had links with Okonjo Iweala . He alleged that ex minister's sibling was a a top official of the firm, which got about $2 Billion as commission from the deal. He said " Why was she removed. Of course there was a commission in that deal. There was a company that facilitated the deal, and of course people know the owners of the company. This woman had collected her salaries in dollars. About $2billion was paid as commission to the company that facilitated that debt buy back. The company is owned by her siblings..it's not a secret no more.If you check the records of the Paris Club and World Bank you will find the owners." Nwadike who took shots at the proposed six year single tenure continued " Some can say it was legitimate, but I don't think so. I think it smacks of corruption. One of the magic wand she came with was to pay back the debt arguing that we were paying so much in interest , therefore okay to just pay back. President Obasanjo bought into it, and decided tom pay back. Was not strategic to pay all back. Her siblings are part owners of the the company that brokered the deal. Of course something must have accrued to her." The former presidential candidate who also condemned the sacking of the former President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Ayo Salamai, said " Obasanjo got angry because the way he celebrated her was amazing because he believed she had the magic wand. Why was she reassigned. Obasanjo got pissed off when he smelt corruption, no need changing his winning team. She was winning by paying back. It was celebrated. So why the sudden change of mind. he will tell us someday, and I will vindicated . When She was removed as chairman of the economic team , she left. Knew the game was up. She benefited from the deal, and Obasanjo found out...they got 10 per cent. " http://www.pointblanknews.com/News/os5512.html |

Ritchiee:Ah yes, the "Obasanjo sacked Okonjo-Iweala" theory again—brought to you by the same crowd that believed Peter Obi had a magic wand but forgot he couldn't fix gutters in Awka. First, let’s clear the fog. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala wasn’t fired for corruption. She was shuffled during Obasanjo’s mood swing era—after she brokered the greatest debt relief deal in African history, saving Nigeria over $30 billion. No indictment. There is no court case. Just speculative gossip from political lightweights like Batos Nwadike—whose only claim to relevance is yelling in caps. But while you’re here throwing decade-old articles like kitchen rags, let’s talk facts: The deal was transparent, internationally acclaimed, and helped stabilize Nigeria’s economy. Okonjo-Iweala remains respected globally, currently running the World Trade Organization. Compare that to Peter Obi who can’t manage flood drainage or silence cultists in Anambra but wants to “fix” Nigeria by doing morning devotion on Arise TV. Now let’s pivot. Because if we’re being real? Tinubu is delivering, but he needs a stronger Vice President—one with global clout, solid technocratic spine, and zero regional baggage. Enter Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala. Imagine pairing Tinubu’s political genius with her economic precision. That’s premium synergy, not this current awkward silence and lifeless charisma that Shettima’s bringing to the table. His jokes don’t land, his presence doesn’t inspire, and his economic contributions? Still waiting.! You think Tinubu is flying now? Put Ngozi by his side and watch Nigeria ascend to executive class. A VP who understands policy, people, and perception—and doesn't need daily PR CPR to stay relevant. If we're serious about Nigeria's future, it's time to say the quiet part out loud: Replace Shettima with Ngozi. It’s not betrayal. It’s strategy. We need brains, not blazers and borrowed bars. Tinubu is fighting on all fronts—from cleaning Buhari’s leftover mess to neutralizing terror, fixing FX, and managing political landmines. He doesn’t need a decorative VP. He needs a weapon, and Ngozi is a damn good one. Let the children continue crying over decade-old drama—real leaders focus on building the future. |

Oreoluwa1996:Almost 8 years after OBJ left office and you are saying that? She was the minister for finance and and the coordinating minister for the economy. Nigeria 🇳🇬 was making a lot of moneys from crude sales with one of the peak been when she was the minister of finance. can you tell Nigerians the magic she did while she was the minister of finance and coordinating minister for the economy, putting in views the huge money made and how it was utilised to the point that Nigeria was borrowing to pay salaries? Keep in view, that the economy was growing at almost double digital! Here was the the global outlook from 2011-2013 and almost 2014. FOR LESS than a year as a result of lower supplies and trouble in Egypt. In the past week, Brent had climbed 7% to $108.51. Because too much oil was being produced for the infrastructure to handle it, West Texas Intermediate was lower than Brent for several years; it returned to being consistent with Brent.[83][84] On August 28 West Texas Intermediate reached $110.10, the highest since May 2011, and Brent reached $116.61, its highest point since February 19, due to concern about U.S. involvement in Syria. Meanwhile, inventories in the United States had their biggest increase in four months.[85] On November 13, Brent reached $107.12 and was $13.24 higher than West Texas Intermediate, the largest difference since April, due to trouble in Libya and sanctions against Iran.[86] On December 27, due to a better economy in the United States leading to higher demand, oil closed about $100 for the first time since October. Gas was $3.27, two cents below a year earlier.[87]

@OP. While there is a lot of truth in your write-up, especially about the inordinate lust for power of Northern elites they feel Tinubu has denied them, your suggestions of the inclusion of NOI in APC, as VP to PBAT in 2027, is misguided. What will defeat the problems of Nigeria for good is the implementation of holistic and fundamental political reforms that will ensure all Nigeria people, States and region can begin to thrive as intended if that is what they want. Instead of the simple-minded approach of touting this and that as the messiah, let us look at how Nigerians can speak with one voice to insist on the delivery of major game-changjng political and socio-economic reforms like greater decentralization of power from the federal centre towards States and regions (ultimately leading to full regional autonomy and regional policing), resource control to stimulate State/regional productivity, self-reliance and innovation etc, etc, etc. We must stop looking lazily and distractingly for 'champions' with magic wands and use the educated minds many of us possess to identify and insist on the delivery of solutions we can all be part of. Always speaking as if all our problems is related to leadership alone, when it is to do with how Nigerians do not/cannot unite to demand vey obvious solutions from leaders, is the reasons many opportunists and charlatans continue disturbing us with noise daily that they alone have the magic formula to solve all our problems. Eg Dubai dweller Atiku who insists he is best to be President yet does not care to live in Nigeria with Nigerians he claims to love and wish to liberate. Alos failed charlatans like Obi, who was a monumental fraud and failure as Governor, through to vengeful El Rufai fighting others personally rather than ideologically and the many failed political jobbers, like Dele Momodu etal, now pretending they are collaborating as an opposition to "save Nigeria". No 'Rocket Scientist, as you are touting NOI to be while others will also have their own names to throw in the ring too, is needed for what is clearly not Rocket Science. The solutions are fairly obvious and only a united people, with homogeneity of ideas and vision, can insist leaders must deliver them. The bolded above is the koko of the matter. It is what we do not have and the reason you.and many others think there is one individual out there who can perform miracles over problems that are institutional and related to the fundamentally wrong political structure and constitution of Nigeria. |
