Zambia's 6th President, Lungu has been undergoing specialised treatment for an undisclosed illness in South Africa since he lost his second term bid to Hakainde Hichelima in August 2021

The announcement was made by his daughter, Hon. Tasila Lungu-Mwansa (a Member of Parliament)

ANNOUNCEMENT TO THE NATION ON THE PASSING OF HIS EXCELLENCY DR. EDGAR CHAGWA LUNGU

Fellow Zambians,It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of His Excellency Dr. Edgar Chagwa Lungu, Sixth President of the Republic of Zambia, who departed this morning at 06:hours at Medforum Clinic, a Medical Centre in South Africa.

My father, President Lungu had been under medical supervision in recent weeks.

His condition was managed with dignity and privacy, with support from wellwishers.In this moment of grief, we invoke the spirit of "One Zambia, One Nation" – the timeless creed that guided President Lungu’s service to our country.

In time, the nation will be informed of other arrangements.

So in the whole Zambia, no specialized hospital to treat an ex-president? What a shame!!!
Just like our Nigeria, all our presidents either go to London, France, Saudi and Germany for medical treatment. The only one who didn't go numerously on medical tourism was GEJ. I give that to him.

Just like Zambia, Nigeria isn’t different! No standard working hospital, not even one. Upon all the billions on the budget year in and out, nothing to show for.

All social amenities in Nigeria are non existent or in a decrepit state. Shame on Africa, especially Nigeria. It is shameful on past and current African leaders especially here in Nigeria. They all talk big, but need someone abroad to wipe their black assses!!
