Absolutely, the greed of Atiku caused the downfall of PDP. Instead for him to queue behind GEJ, he jumped to APC and eventually Buhari snatched it from him with the help of Emilokan.

Many of those northern politicians just want power, they don't want to build party. After they all left, Wike carried the burden of PDP and now that they are back they wanted to start controlling again.
